Macclesfield have signed striker Martin Gritton, who was recently released by League Two rivals Lincoln.
Gritton, who will be 29 on Friday, has signed a two-year contract.
"Successful teams usually have one or two players who bang in 15-20 goals in a season," Macclesfield boss Paul Ince told his club's website.
"I am hoping Martin can fill that role - and he clearly wants to prove a point, having spent a lot of last year on the bench."
Gritton has scored 45 league goals in 236 appearances for Plymouth, Yeovil, Torquay, Grimsby, Lincoln and Mansfield.
