Marseille claim Cisse wants move

Cisse's career statistics

Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has insisted that Liverpool forward Djibril Cisse wants to join them.

The 24-year-old, who arrived at Anfield in July 2004 for �14m from Auxerre, is thought to be unhappy at Liverpool and was on the bench against Wigan.

"Djibril is not satisfied with his game time in Liverpool and he has Marseille in his heart," Diouf told The Times.

France international Cisse wants to earn regular first-team football ahead of next year's World Cup in Germany.

Speculation over Cisse's future was intense over the summer, when Peter Crouch joined Liverpool from Southampton.

Since then, Cisse has had limited first-team opportunities and was even omitted from the Liverpool party that won 2-0 at Sunderland last month.

Crouch scored his first Liverpool goal in Saturday's game against Wigan and would appear to have cemented his place ahead of Cisse in the pecking order.
