Swindon reject two bids for Cox

Cox still has one year left on his Swindon contract

Swindon Town have turned down two bids for top scorer Simon Cox since the end of the season.

One of the offers was from Leicester City, and it is thought the other club could be Scottish champions Celtic.

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric confirmed the striker is on their list of transfer targets, having scored 32 goals this season.

Mandaric told BBC Radio Leicester: "He is a quality player and Nigel [Pearson] and his staff think highly of him.

"We are interested but we are facing competition. He is on a shortlist.

"We are at a time when we are approaching that situation and I think we should know more in a few days."

Cox, 22, has scored 47 goals in 88 appearances for Swindon.

Swindon manager Danny Wilson last week revealed he was "half expecting" his top scorer to leave, but insisted the deal must be right for both the club and player.
