Everton's Dutch international Andy van der Meyde has been suspended by the Premier League leaders following a "breach of club discipline".
Midfielder Van der Meyde, 27, failed to appear at training on Sunday, a day after Everton's 2-1 win over Wigan.
"He has been suspended for a week and handed the maximum fine possible," said a statement on their website.
Boss David Moyes added: "Andy has had numerous warnings about this type of thing - we won't tolerate it any more."

Moyes continued: "I will make a decision regarding the player's future next week."
Holland winger Van der Meyde was not involved in the squad for Tuesday's 3-1 win at Tottenham and will not feature in Saturday's trip to Reading.
