Everton defender Joseph Yobo has confirmed he will sign his new contract by the end of the week.
While Yobo, 25, has stalled on signing the four-year deal, Everton have signed Joleon Lescott from Wolves and given David Weir a new one-year deal.
The Nigerian international told the Daily Post: "I had made up my mind to stay long before the end of the season.
"It wasn't about money, I just wanted certain commitments and I can confirm I'm going to sign a new contract."
Yobo's 12-month delay in signing his new deal gave rise to speculation he could be a summer transfer target, with Arsenal believed to be among those interested.
"Everton are a big club and we should reasonably be challenging for a place in Europe every season," added Yobo.
"I see now the club also share those ambitions and some quality players are coming in."
