Colchester United winger Mark Yeates' move to Crystal Palace is in serious doubt after he failed his medical at Selhurst Park.
Eagles manager Neil Warnock has been tracking the 23-year-old Irishman for six months.
But the transfer has stalled after Yeates' long-term shoulder injury stopped the move from going through.
Yeates, who began his career with Tottenham, has had loan spells at a few clubs including Hull and Leicester.
