Colchester United midfielder Neil Danns has rejected a new contract offer from the club, report BBC Essex.
The U's made a written offer to the 23-year-old, but Danns has decided his future lies elsewhere.
If the former Blackburn man does leave Layer Road the move would go to a tribunal as the player is under 24.
Danns' agent Tony Finnigan told BBC Essex: "On the back of a successful season he was offered new terms but he's turned it down."
