Teenage midfielder Luke Joyce is delighted to have been handed a contract extension by Carlisle, after 16 first-team appearances last season.
"I think it was a reward for what I did towards the end of the season - I signed it straight away," the 19-year-old told Carlisle's website.
"The manager has told me what he wanted to see from me next season.
"My aim now has to be to start as many games I can - our aim is to better the eighth place finish we've just had."
