The former Portsmouth and Boston man, 23, has spent the last month with the U's on non-contract terms, scoring twice in seven Conference games.
"I think the supporters can see he's a player with ability so it's a nice signing for the club," Cambridge boss Rob Newman told his club's website.
"It gives a boost to everyone connected with the club."
Newman added: "Hopefully he can continue in the same vein."
