The 28-year-old has joined the Shakers on a non-contract basis and goes straight into Andy Preece¿s squad for Saturday¿s game against Kidderminster.
Charnock, who started his career at Liverpool, was released by Vale at the end of last season, having previously spent six seasons at Crewe.
