Gowling will miss rest of season
Bournemouth defender Josh Gowling is expected to miss the rest of the season after a scan revealed he had ruptured an anterior cruciate knee ligament.

The 21-year-old was injured in the first minute of the Cherries' 2-0 victory at Brentford on Saturday.

"Josh is understandably disappointed, as we all are," Bournemouth manager Sean O'Driscoll said.

"Despite this setback we still see Josh as a player for the future and no doubt he will come back fitter and stronger."

The former West Bromwich Albion and Herfolge centre-back moved to Dean Court on a one-year contract in the summer after impressing on trial.

Physio Jim Marshall added: "It's a relatively common injury in football, and accounts for most serious knee injuries.

"There is a long rehabilitation time, but they are largely successful operations, and there are no other complications with Josh."
