Ridsdale attended Blackpool's game at the weekend fuelling rumours that he would join the board.
"I'm biding my time, I enjoy football and I'm getting to games," Ridsdale told Barnsley's website.
"A Championship club said they wanted urgent talks, I'm seeing them on Tuesday. My options are improving."
