Arsenal defender Lauren may need surgery on his knee following a cartilage complaint.

The Cameroon international has had problems with his knee throughout his career and could face a long lay-off.

"I continue to have a knee cartilage problem whcih was found three years ago after a check-up," said Lauren.

"I am now waiting for more results. If the pains continue I would not rule out surgery."

Lauren is also facing two charges of violent conduct following Arsenal's controversial 0-0 draw with Manchester United in September.

If found guilty, he may could be banned for three games or more.
