Paul Benson blasted a hat-trick as Dagenham thrashed Notts County to move within a point of the play-off places.

Midfielder Matt Ritchie and striker Ben Strevens gave the home side a commanding early lead, before Benson struck twice either side of the break.

Defender Magnus Okuonghae made it 5-0 to Dagenham in the 56th minute, but a consolation came thanks to Jonathan Forte's neat strike.

But Benson headed home powerfully in injury time to complete the rout.
