Worcester City chairman Dave Boddy says the club have not received any more offers from AFC Telford United for skipper Chris Smith.
Telford originaly offered £1,500 for Smith and their chairman Lee Carter said they would up the bid.
But City chairman Dave Boddy told the club's website: "I had a business meeting with Lee Carter, which had been pre-arranged some 2 or 3 weeks ago.
"We discussed the matter but Telford's valuation is still well short of ours."
Boddy added: "There also has to be a willingness to sell the player and a desire for the player to move.
"I explained to Lee that we still believe that we have an outside chance of making the play-offs ourselves and that Chris was an important member of our squad.
"It is unlikely that there will be any further developments."
