Benarbia wins Algeria award
Benarbia was Man City's player of the season
Manchester City captain Ali Benarbia has been named as the 2002
Algerian Footballer of the Year.
The poll was conducted by the country's leading Arabic sport publication Al Haddaf. The honour given to the Algerian midfielder was due to his outstanding performance at Manchester City.
Benarbia's consistent form played a key role in the club's promotion from the First Division to the Premiership, which earned him their 'player of the season' award. Algerian international Lounes Gaouaoui was named as the country's leading goalkeeper, while Yacine Bezzaz of French side Ajaccio was voted the best youth player. |
