Kenya's preparations for CAN could be affected

The Kenyan Football Federation has had its bank account frozen after failing to pay more than $10,000 in taxes.
It is the second time in just over a year that the government has moved to freeze the assets of the Federation, which it says owes $10,600 in taxes.
This latest move appears to be a further twist in an on-going dispute between the Federation and the Minister for Sport Najib
Balala.
Balala last week urged KFF officials to quit and pave the
way for fresh elections.
The minister's comments came after the KFF acting secretary general
Allan Chenane said the federation could not adequately prepare
the national team for next January's African Nations Cup finals because of a lack of cash.
"We have sent several reminders for them to clear the
outstanding amount but they did not respond," Fatuma Yusuf, the Kenya Revenue Authority's (KRA) spokesman said.
"We decided thus to freeze their account on Monday,"
"All they have to do is comply with the taxation regulations
and we shall give the order for them to (be able to) operate
their accounts," said Yusuf.
The government froze the KFF's bank account last May, but it
was opened after an agreement with the KRA that the federation
would make monthly payments.
KFF treasurer Mohamed Hatimy said he was unaware of the
freezing of their accounts, adding that the KFF had already paid almost $6,300.
