Ghana name new coach
Zivadinovic
Yugoslav Milan Zivadinovic is Ghana's new coach
The Ghana Football Association has named Yugoslav Milan Zivadinovic as the new national team coach.

This ends two months of search for a new coach after the Black Stars quarter-finals exit at the African Nations Cup in Mali.

Zivadinovic replaces Ghanaian coach Fred Osam-Duodu who has returned to his original job as technical director of the GFA.

The Yugoslav has signed a two-year deal with the aim of taking the Black Stars to the Nations Cup in Tunisia in 2004.

He will collect a salary of $8,000 a month.

His first match in charge of the side will be the friendly against World Cup bound Slovenia in Ljubljana on May 17.

Ghana hope for happier days under Zivadinovic

Zivadinovic is reported to be the 11th foreign coach of the four times African champions.

Italian coach Giusseppe Dossena was the last foreigner at the post.

Dossena was among three other unsuccessful applicants for the job.

The Ghana FA says that Zivadinovic has 28 years experience as coach.

Fluent in German and English, Zivadinovic was in charge of Yugoslavian side Obilic before taking up his first job in Africa.

His career has seen him coach sides in Asia and at home, where he is successful.
