1824: Here's a closer from the boys at Infostrada Sports: "There were 41 goals in this Premier League match round. That was a magical way to finish a truly majestic weekend of Premier League football. Liverpool could have been 3-0 up after 50 minutes, but what a great fightback from Spurs.

1756: Glen Johnson slips just inside his half and Aaron Lennon brilliantly capitalises, racing forward and then skinning Martin Skrtel before shooting wide of the far post. But it won't matter...

1755: Paul Konchesky gets closer this time, but he fouls Aaron Lennon and the hosts are happy just to time-waste. Into the dying stages now.

1754: Spurs bring Sandro on for Jermain Defoe, it's just a time-wasting measure. Liverpool have got about 90 seconds to find an equaliser.

Spurs goal: They've only gone and won it, Tottenham. It looks harmless enough when Benoit Assou-Ekotto launches it from left-back, but there's a problem as soon as Peter Crouch flicks on a header and Paul Konchesky is out of position as Aaron Lennon controls it well on his chest, bursts clear and slots coolly past Pepe Reina. Great finish to a great game.

1752: GOAL Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool (Lennon)

1751: Into five minutes of added time now, and Heurelho Gomes does well to get to a cross ahead of Fernando Torres and punch the ball away.

1750: Spurs think they have won it, but the assistant's flag goes straight up and it's a good decision. Aaron Lennon heads the ball on and Jermain Defoe smashes it into the net via Pepe Reina's gloves, but he was offside.

1748: Oof, that'll hurt. Glen Johnson times a tackle wrong and goes straight through Gareth Bale, clearing everything out. He did get a touch on the ball, but it's reckless, and Johnson is booked. Too many stoppages for it to be a humdinger of a finale at the moment.

1747: Sotirios Kyrgiakos takes his time to get on the pitch and Jamie Carragher takes his time to go off - he didn't want Liverpool to be down to 10 men even for a few seconds there, sensibly. They swap places.

1745: Jamie Carragher has got a problem with his shoulder, he looks in a lot of pain after an aerial challenge with Peter Crouch. It's entirely speculation, but might be dislocated, that. He can't move his left arm. Sotirios Kyrgiakos will come on.

1744: Whoosh, that was close. Liverpool play it nicely and Raul Meireles catches a left-foot shot from 25 yards right out of the sweet spot, hammering a sizzling drive a couple of inches past Heurelho Gomes' left-hand post with the Brazilian struggling to get there.

1741: Pepe Reina again comes for a cross and again cannot get all of it - the ball falls for Gareth Bale, but his acrobatic effort hits Reina and we're still Spurs 1-1 Liverpool heading into the closing stages.

1739: Liverpool are defending deep, as Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto crosses are headed away. The visitors break, but they over-play it and the opportunity to create a chance passes them by. Roy Hodgson isn't happy.

1738: Peter Crouch completely mis-controls the ball, and then whacks it miles into the stand at Spurs. To be fair, the big man has usually got good feet (for a big man), but that was hopeless. The tempo has just dropped off a touch.

1735: Jermain Defoe fires wide from 12 yards. There's a winner at The Lane somewhere, methinks. Just over 15 minutes of normal time still left.

1734: David Ngog has a problem and he's walking down the tunnel, so Liverpool are about to make a change - here it comes, and it's Fabio Aurelio, a defender.

1732: Fernando Torres tries to catch Heurelho Gomes out from inside the centre-circle, but it's low and the Brazilian gathers easily.

1730: Martin Atkinson plays on again, but Dirk Kuyt thinks he should have a penalty. Lucas slides the Dutchman in in the box and Benoit Assou-Ekotto lunges in - it's dangerous, but the defender just gets enough of the ball and that's a great decision from the referee.

1729: Fabulous atmosphere at White Hart Lane, tackles are flying in, the players are giving everything and there is danger from every attack. It's a terrific game of football, and like almost all the matches this weekend, a wonderful advert for the Premier League.

Spurs goal: That's class - and we have our Premier League record because all 20 teams have scored this weekend. There's some hesitancy in the Liverpool defence just outside their area and Luka Modric capitalises in devastating fashion, doing superbly to sprint past three defenders down the left and fire over a cross that Martin Skrtel can only divert into his own net.

1723: Spurs have had nine penalties this season and have missed four of them. Cor blimey.

Missed penalty: I just do not understand some things in football. Gareth Bale's free-kick hits the Liverpool wall - well, David Ngog has his hands above his head and it hits them, so Martin Atkinson gives a spot-kick. The Reds players are furious, but it's silly from Ngog. Jermain Defoe steps up and shoots wide of Pepe Reina's right-hand post. Silly Ngog, silly Defoe. Still Spurs 0-1 Liverpool.

1717: Peter Crouch takes a long ball on his chest on the edge of the Liverpool box and goes down under a challenge from Martin Skrtel, but referee Martin Atkinson waves play on. Nothing doing there.

1713: Benoit Assou-Ekotto lets fly from 30 yards and it's a sweet hit, taking a little deflection on its way a couple of yards over the crossbar. Liverpool defend the corner well, but they are under the cosh a bit at the moment.

1712: My word we've had some good goalline clearances today. A cross from the right isn't dealt with by Pepe Reina and it falls for Gareth Bale 12 yards out - his left-foot volley is flying in, but Raul Meireles heads it off the line.

1710: Spurs win a corner after Aaron Lennon's cross is headed behind and when it comes in Peter Crouch does well to head it back across goal, but a swivelling Jermain Defoe cannot get any contact as he tries to send it goalwards.

BBC Radio 5 live's John Scales: "I can't work out whether Fernando Torres is not interested this afternoon or... I mean, he doesn't shoot in that instance, yet moments later he is sprinting 30 yards to try and keep the ball in from going out for a throw. Hmm."

1707: Why didn't he shoot? Fernando Torres is sent clean through by Lucas, fabulous pass, but for some reason the Spanish striker delays and delays and delays and in the end Sebastien Bassong gets back to get a block in. Very strange.

1706: The fans find their collective voice at White Hart Lane and Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch get the second half under way. Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool.

1702: So, things to look forward to: if Spurs score, it will be the first time in Premier League history that all 20 teams have scored on the same matchday; and the FA Cup third round draw takes place at about 1800 GMT.

Phil Dawkes reports: "Chelsea's second-half display was much better than their first but they are still a shadow of the side from earlier in the season. Newcastle ultimately had to battle to secure a point, but it was a deserved one in the end."

Mandeep Sanghera reports: "It seems Roy Hodgson is stamping his mark on Liverpool and they look a more organised outfit. They have largely stifled Spurs and go into the break 1-0 ahead."

1650: Wow, Liverpool could be 3-0 up. It's Maxi Rodriguez who plays Fernando Torres through down the inside left channel, but Sebastien Bassong matches him for pace and makes a brilliant, lunging tackle to prevent the Spaniard from doubling the lead.

1649: Had to be 2-0. From the sublime to the ridiculous inside a few seconds, as Fernando Torres plays an outrageous, swivel pass through to Maxi Rodriguez, only for the Argentine, clean through, to scuff his shot completely as Heurelho Gomes gathers.

1648: A ball into the Liverpool box shouldn't cause any trouble, but Jamie Carragher slips - he's lucky Peter Crouch hasn't gambled, and it goes out for a goalkick. Into first-half stoppage time.

Reds goal: They've been the better team and they deserve that lead. A free-kick 45 yards out is lofted into the Spurs box and after Martin Skrtel's header hits David Ngog it falls at the feet of the defender, Skrtel keeping his cool to shoot right-footed low into Heurelho Gomes' net.

1645: GOAL Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool (Skrtel)

1644: Spurs soak up some Liverpool pressure and then break and Luka Modric leads the charge and the Liverpool defence a merry dance, eventually hauled down by a soon-to-be-booked Jamie Carragher 35 yards out. Gareth Bale takes the free-kick but it's hugely ambitious and flies a yard or two wide.

1642: Liverpool have been the better team and Raul Meireles hits a skimmer from all of 30 yards that Heurelho Gomes unsatisfactorily shovels behind for a corner. Almost let it creep through him, the Brazilian.

1641: That's better from Wilson Palcios, winning the ball back for Spurs on halfway and giving it to Aaron Lennon, but when he sends it on to Alan Hutton, the full-back's cross is easily claimed by Pepe Reina. It's just bubbling under the surface at the moment, this one.

1638: The injury to Younes Kaboul is an odd one - all that happened was he blocked a Fernando Torres shot, but he immediately signalled to the bench. Sebastien Bassong in on in his place with 10 minutes left in the first half.

1637: Another injury problem for Spurs here, with Younes Kaboul struggling.

1635: Great play from Lucas to dispossess Wilson Palacios and get Dirk Kuyt away down the right and when he flings over a cross, David Ngog can only head wide at the near post. Cracking game of football.

1634: That's why Jamie Carragher has been such a magnificent servant for Liverpool. Luka Modric gets away down the Spurs right and when his cross is half-stopped/half-fumbled by Pepe Reina it falls for Jermain Defoe six yards out - it looks like he has to score, but Carragher throws his body in the way and makes the block. Stunning.

1632: First real run of note from the speedy Gareth Bale, who races into the Liverpool half and gets to the edge of the box where he is brought down by Paul Konchesky. The full-back is booked and Bale hits the free-kick into the wall.

1628: Paul Konchesky gives the ball straight back to Spurs and Alan Hutton races into the Liverpool penalty box, bursting between two players and going down in the area. There might have been some contact, but it was a bit theatrical from the Scot and referee Martin Atkinson waves play on.

1626: First yellow card of the game at Tottenham, with Liverpool's Raul Meireles booked for a challenge from behind on Gareth Bale as the Welshman tried to race down the left. Got a bit of the ball, the Portuguese.

1625: Liverpool are working it nicely in the Tottenham half, plenty of good movement and plenty of sighters. Lucas's shot from 20 yards takes a deflection and flies out for a corner. From that set-piece, a Martin Skrtel header goalwards looks like it might hit Younes Kaboul's arm, but nothing given.

BBC Radio 5 live's John Scales: "What I've noticed with Younes Kaboul and William Gallas when they play together is that when one of them brings the ball out, pretty soon they are 30 or 40 yards away from each other and when they lose the ball that is a very big gap for your two centre-halves."

1621: They are testing Heurelho Gomes, Liverpool. Maxi Rodriguez has had a lively start and the Argentine hammers one in from 25 yards that Gomes does really well to tip away at full stretch diving to his left.

1620: Lots of you Liverpool fans were worried about Glen Johnson marking Gareth Bale, but he's doing a very decent job so far, the much-maligned, pony-tailed full-back. A Bale corner from the left evades Younes Kaboul and is met on the volley by Peter Crouch, but he is under pressure and can only slice wide.

1617: Wilson Palacios misplaces a couple of passes and gets cheered by his own fans for a simple ball that finds one of his team-mates. A cross from the Spurs left is behind Jermain Defoe, but he does well to volley it on target, Pepe Reina not having to move to make the routine save.

1614: Rafael van der Vaart was trying to latch on to a Peter Crouch knock-down, but he straight away pulled up and it could be a hamstring problem for the Dutch midfielder. Jermain Defoe comes on for Van der Vaart.

1611: Boy, how much time and space do Spurs want to give Liverpool in their penalty area? Dirk Kuyt is too slow to capitalise on Fernando Torres' pass but it still breaks to Maxi Rodriguez, who is given the freedom of the box to lash a right-foot shot agonisingly wide of the far post.

1610: Decent move from Liverpool that, with Fernando Torres pulling off Younes Kaboul to flick a lovely pass through to Maxi Rodriguez, but the Argentine has just crept a yard offside.

1607: Stunning start from Aaron Lennon, skinning Paul Konchesky and clipping the ball back to Luka Modric from the byeline, but the Croatian can only volley into the floor and into the arms of Pepe Reina.

1606: Dirk Kuyt gives it away and Aaron Lennon breaks with superb pace, racing into the Liverpool area only to tread on the ball with Rafael van der Vaart screaming for it on the left.

1605: William Gallas touches the ball back to Heurelho Gomes, but he didn't realise how close the Brazilian keeper was to him, and Gomes does well to get his clearance far enough away from goal to prevent any danger.

1603: On a freezing cold day in London there's a warm greeting from the two managers, Harry Redknapp and Roy Hodgson. William Gallas gets the Spurs players in a huddle and Liverpool get us under way.

1558: William Gallas leads Tottenham out and Jamie Carragher, making his 450th league appearance for Liverpool, takes the visitors on to the pitch at White Hart Lane. We're almost good to go, and there might be history in the making.

1555: ... So I asked Infostrada Sports. Here's what they told me: "Every club has scored so far. If Tottenham and Liverpool score, it will be the first time in the Premier League that all clubs have scored in one complete match round." They do, however, add the caveat that "a complete round is all 10 matches (or 11 in the first few seasons). So a match in April which was original scheduled for November counts for the match round in November (a postponed match for instance)." Clear? Great.

1553: So far this weekend, all 18 teams that have played have scored in the Premier League. I wanted to know if all 20 ever have before...

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson: "Let's hope we can cause them as many problems as they cause us. He [Joe Cole] would've made the 18 but slightly injured his ankle in training [on Saturday]. We decided it was better not to risk him."

1549: I know what you're thinking: 'It's El Clasico Eve, and Stevo hasn't even mentioned Barcelona-Real Madrid yet.' Well, we are a matter of hours away from arguably the most hyped domestic football match on Earth, and our European blogger Phil Minshull sets the scene: "If expectations are high for a classic, there are not many people that are happy about the scheduling of El Clasico on a Monday - for only the third time in the game's history." Meanwhile, I've been banging on about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They've scored 92 club goals between them in only 90 games in 2010. Fact.

Ipswich boss Roy Keane: "It's always tough when you lose, especially 4-1 to your rivals, but we shot ourselves in the foot in the first half. The players are feeling bad enough already without me hammering them. We seem to be making the same mistakes week in week out. We felt there was cover [for sending off], the referee was quick to send him off but we can't complain too much. The officials are there to make decisions and we have to respect them."

Striker Jermain Defoe is again on the bench. Liverpool make one change from the side that beat West Ham last time out as Lucas Leiva returns from suspension to replace Christian Poulsen in midfield."

1541: I'm looking at television pictures of Spurs' injured midfielder Jermaine Jenas tucking into a plate of what looks like fish and chips at White Hart Lane. Top work.

1539: Sorry for the earlier confusion - can confirm that Joe Cole is not on the bench for Liverpool this afternoon.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert: "A derby means a lot to people, it does to our football club and it does to Ipswich. I thought we were terrific from the off today, the whole team in general terms were excellent. Grant Holt was a threat throughout, too."

Mandeep Sanghera reports: "How realistic is Harry Redknapp's claim his Tottenham side are Premier League title contenders? Well, we should get a clearer indication against Liverpool today. Spurs have 10 goals in their last three games and are riding high on the back of beating Arsenal and Werder Bremen. Liverpool have improved in a campaign which started in turmoil but have just one away league win so far this season, while boss Roy Hodgson has not won in four previous trips to White Hart Lane as a manager."

1514: So close for Chelsea as the towering Didier Drogba flicks the ball on to Daniel Sturridge in the Newcastle box and after his first shot is blocked, his effort on the rebound dribbles wide of Tim Krul's left-hand post from 14 yards.

1513: Hearing that Rafael van der Vaart is going to start for Spurs today, will confirm that as soon as we can.

1512: Deep into injury time at Norwich, but that game was all over a while ago. Horrible, horrible feeling if you're an Ipswich fan. We've all been there.

1510: Good grief that's a harsh decision. Carlos Edwards is all over Norwich's Simeon Jackson and he goes to ground inside the area, only to be booked for diving. Why does it have to be a penalty or a dive? It doesn't.

Nicolas Anelka crosses from the Chelsea left and Salomon Kalou initially does really well, chesting it down and then somehow bundling it past two defenders and Tim Krul - he's three yards out, at an angle on the left, empty net, and can only shoot wide. 1504: Now that's what you call a standing ovation. Hat-trick hero Grant Holt is taken off at Norwich to huge acclaim, with Simeon Jackson on in his place. Hearing that Joe Cole is on the bench for Liverpool at Spurs today. Full team news to come.

1502: It's a bit more Chelsea at the moment, just starting to increase the pressure on Newcastle a touch. They are really struggling to create chances, but there are 15 minutes left at least at St James' Park. Ramires gets into a great position at the byeline on the right, but blazes miles over the bar.

Craig in Liverpool, on text: "What is with the neck scarves, are these people for real? What's next, John Motson's coat complete with name and number on the back?"

1459: Chance for Chelsea at Newcastle as a corner is played in from the right and the always dangerous Branislav Ivanovic glances a header goalwards, Tim Krul making the save.

Norwich goal: The visitors have collapsed. Norwich work it from right to left, Grant Holt and Chris Martin helping it on and when it falls for Wes Hoolahan, he does his marker on the left and when Marton Fulop goes down too early, Hoolahan gorgeously clips the ball over the keeper and into the net. It's a rout.

1457: GOAL Norwich 4-1 Ipswich (Hoolahan)

Norwich goal: A treble in a local derby - Grant Holt will never, ever have to buy a drink in Norwich for as long as he lives. He's got the quick feet of Chris Martin to thank for giving him the chance this time, and Holt slaps the ball into the far corner from 16 yards to wrap this one up for the hosts.

1455: GOAL Norwich 3-1 Ipswich (Holt, hat-trick)

1452: Henri Lansbury spanks a shot over at Norwich, who still have not put Ipswich away. It's all Canaries again, about 15 minutes left in East Anglia.

1450: That's absolutely sensational defending from Ashley Cole, it really is. It looks for all the world as though Newcastle are going 2-1 up when Wayne Routledge hits a screaming shot goalwards, but Cole gets into position A and acrobatically heads the ball off the line. Stunning.

1449: Ipswich send on New Zealand World Cup striker Rory Fallon for defender Gianni Zuiverloon. That's a statement.

1448: A rare moment of threatening action from Ipswich, but Grant Leadbitter's slightly deflected shot from 30 yards sails wide of goal. At Newcastle, Andy Carroll gets up well to head goalwards, but it's an easy save for Petr Cech.

1446: Norwich are trying to put Ipswich to bed, but alas, they cannot. Russell Martin plays a lovely ball into the visitors' box and it finds Chris Martin all alone at the back stick, only for Marton Fulop to make a fine save with his legs.

1444: Andrew Surman has picked up a knock and Norwich send on Wes Hoolahan in his place. A corner from their left is headed wide by Grant Holt as the Canaries captain's hat-trick hunt continues apace.

1441: Oof. David Norris clatters into Norwich's Henri Lansbury and picks up a booking. Ipswich just cannot get anything going at the moment.

BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Nevin: "I suspect Carlo Ancelotti has had some stern words with his players at half-time because Chelsea's players are harrying and chasing a lot more. Shola Ameobi is out of the game for Newcastle, and I wouldn't be surprised if they take him off."

BBC Radio 5 live's Nigel Worthington: "Even though this is 11 v 10 players I still think it is way too easy for Norwich at the moment, I just don't think Ipswich are putting enough pressure on them in midfield or at the back."

1438: I guess I can forgive Conor, below, for neglecting to mention the remarkable loan signing of Aaron Ramsey and Lewis McGugan's stunning sequence of screamers, can't I? Chelsea doing a bit more of the pressing at Newcastle, but no real chances after the break yet.

1430: BBC Radio 5 live pundit Nigel Worthington points out that Ipswich are defending as a 10 pretty much, with lone striker Tamas Priskin tucking into midfield when Norwich have got the ball, which is most of the time. David Fox hammers a shot over from just outside the Tractor Boys' box.

Phil Dawkes reports: "Chelsea have not been good, but Salomon Kalou ensures the champions go in to the break level after Alex's woeful error to gift Newcastle an early lead. If Ancelotti's team are to take the pressure of the under-fire Italian they will need to drastically improve in the second half against a determined home side."

Chelsea goal: You know, they probably deserve that, the Blues. There's pressure on the Newcastle defence and eventually the visitors find a way through as Florent Malouda flicks the ball to Salomon Kalou in the Magpies box, he turns on to his right foot and fires in a shot that takes a deflection off Jose Enrique and flies past Tim Krul. Level pegging.

1416: GOAL Newcastle 1-1 Chelsea (Kalou)

1414: The locals will enjoy what just happened to Ashley Cole at Newcastle, but he's been a bit unfortunate. Moments after accidentally booting Shola Ameobi up the backside, he latches on to Florent Malouda's pass inside the Newcastle box and seems to be brought down by Cheik Tiote. Looks like a penalty to me, but nothing given.

BBC Sport's Paul Fletcher at Carrow Road: "Three goals, a sending off, some handbags... if you were to look up 'local derby' in your footballing textbook, this would be it. Not sure Roy Keane will have enjoyed it as much as us neutrals."

1411: As if to prove the point, Jon Mikel Obi gives the ball away for the umpteeth time at St James' Park. Chelsea really struggling to get their fluid passing game going, about five minutes until half-time. Still Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea.

1404: Norwich are piling pressure on Ipswich and we are into four minutes of first-half stoppage time at Carrow Road. Meanwhile at Newcastle, the visitors are doing a fair bit of pressing, but they don't look especially dangerous at the moment. Didier Drogba isn't in the game enough.

1402: Fantastic save from Marton Fulop, getting down to his left to parry away Andrew Surman's thumping downward header. On the brink of half-time in East Anglia.

1401: Hope that answers your question, Charlotte. Anyway, Grant Holt is denied a first-half hat-trick at Norwich by some last-ditch defending, and after going down to 10 men Ipswich haul off striker Jason Scotland and send on midfielder Colin Healy.

1357: Chelsea pushing for an equaliser at St James' Park. A short corner sees Nicolas Anelka cross for Alex to head goalwards, but Jose Enrique clears off the line. The ball is immediately played back in to Salomon Kalou, but his shot from 10 yards is blocked by Steven Taylor.

Delaney sending off: You know, I'm not sure about that. Damien Delaney has gone from hero to zero, but it might be harsh. He dallies in possession, about 10 yards inside his own half, and a super lively Grant Holt nicks the ball off him. Holt tries to run through, but Delaney tugs him, Holt goes down and Delaney is shown a straight red. Holt still had an awful lot to do, and there were two Ipswich defenders pretty close by too. Difficult one, that.

1355: RED CARD Damien Delaney, Ipswich

Norwich goal: That's come a bit against the run of play after the last 10 minutes, but the hosts are back in front. Ipswich's centre-backs part like the Red Sea and Henri Lansbury threads a cracking pass forward for an unmarked Grant Holt to collect, take his time and fire past Marton Fulop.

1353: GOAL Norwich 2-1 Ipswich (Holt)

1352: Oof, that's got to hurt. Bit of South American rivalry in that tackle as Brazilian Ramires trips Argentine Jonas Gutierrez and the Chelsea man picks up a booking for his troubles.

1349: Chelsea captain Didier Drogba gets into a bit of space on the left of the Newcastle box and slams in a fierce shot that Tim Krul tips behind for a corner. At Norwich, Ipswich are in the ascendancy now, buoyed by their leveller.

Ipswich goal: That's got Keano off the bench. Ipswich are having lots of success with the aerial route and after another ball into the Norwich box is headed back across goal expertly by Tamas Priskin, there is Damien Delaney at the far post diving in to equalise. Cracking stuff from both teams so far.

1347: GOAL Norwich 1-1 Ipswich (Delaney)

1346: Bit risky from Newcastle keeper Tim Krul, who delays a clearance and allows Ramires to close him down, the ball flying off the midfielder's boot and behind for a goalkick.

1344: Chance for Ipswich, but Tamas Priskin heads over the top from 10 yards after a ball is pumped into the Norwich box.

1342: All Norwich at Carrow Road, with Ipswich looking a little nervy at the back. Henri Lansbury side-foots over the bar from 20 yards as the hosts chase a second goal. Moments later, Grant Holt fires over a cross from the left and Chris Martin is foiled at the near post. From the corner, Andrew Crofts' shot is saved by Marton Fulop. Incessant pressure.

Magpies goal: Newcastle deserve the goal because they've started well, but it's a horror show for the champions. They give it away in midfield but Wayne Routledge is dispossessed by Jon Mikel Obi - only when Alex tries to pass it back to Petr Cech, he doesn't know the keeper has raced off his line and the ball rolls past Cech, allowing Andy Carroll to sprint past him and knock into the empty net. Crikey.

1337: GOAL Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea (Carroll)

1334: Ipswich get in down the right and Tamas Priskin drives in a cross-cum-shot that John Ruddy punches away at his near post. Dangerous.

1333: Very early chance for Newcastle. A free-kick from the left is swung over and headed toward goal by Steven Taylor. Petr Cech is able to claw the ball away from goal but only as far as Shola Ameobi, eight yards out. The striker, though, is unable to get his volleyed effort on target and hits the side-netting.

Norwich goal: You could argue Grant Holt shouldn't even be on the pitch, but he's put the Canaries ahead. He battles Darren O'Dea halfway inside the Ipswich half and beats the defender's half-hearted challenge way too easily, racing through alone on goal, opening up his body a la Thierry Henry and slotting into the far corner. Advantage hosts.

Norwich majority shareholder Delia Smith: "With football you have to take the pain and the joy. They're nail-biting games, there's that little bit of tribal stuff but on the whole I don't really enjoy them as much as other matches. At the end of the day it's sport."

The home side are also without suspended regular centre-back pair Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini and so Sol Campbell and Steven Taylor start. The only other change sees Cheik Tiote replace Alan Smith in midfield. Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti makes only one change to the side beaten 1-0 at Birmingham last weekend, with Jose Bosingwa replacing Paulo Ferreira at right-back."

But - and it's not often you get to say this - Chelsea are finding wins hard to come by of late. Plus, the last time they faced Newcastle they were hit for four and knocked out of the Carling Cup. The Blues may not bring form to St James' Park but they'll certainly have a full compliment of snoods."
