1828: Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson on the BBC: "I thought our second half performance was better than the first half. I thought two central midfielders were good. We made up being a man short and had every bit as much possession and chances as the Arsenal. But it's a disappointment to get this close to the end of the game and not get three points."

I give credit to my team, they kept going and got the equaliser. When you play at Liverpool a draw is always a decent result. I didn't see the (Joe Cole) challenge. One thing I can say is that Laurent Koscielny didn't make a meal of it, we were close to taking him off, we were scared it was broken. Arsenal goal: Hero to zero for Pepe Reina. Tomas Rosicky's cross is bundled on to the post by Marouane Chamakh and the ball rebounds out, hits Reina, and creeps over the Spaniard's goalline.

1747: We've had 88 minutes now, and Arsenal continue to knock on the door of the Liverpool defence. The Reds, so far, though, are holding on.

1746: That was almost brilliant from Tomas Rosicky - and only a fabulous save from Pepe Reina keeps Liverpool in front. The Czech exchanges passes on the edge of the box, dances past a couple of tackles, and curls towards the top corner from 16 yards out - Reina tipping over on the stretch.

1745: Tomas Rosicky goes into referee Martin Atkinson's note-book for a foul on Steven Gerrard. Daniel Agger, meanwhile, comes back on - but he does not look right at all. Liverpool have used all three subs, of course.

1743: Half a glimpse of an opening for Fernando Torres, but Laurent Koscielny works him off the ball - fairly says referee Martin Atkinson - and Arsenal break again.

1741: Daniel Agger is struggling now, he looks a bit dazed. He should carry on, though. Arsenal have 10 or so minutes to turn their possession into goals.

1738: Fernando Torres secures Liverpool some respite by earning a free-kick deep inside the Arsenal half. More worrying for the Reds, though, is the sight of Javier Mascherano sat feeling his left leg in the centre circle. He comes off moments later to be replaced by Lucas.

1736: Arsenal roll the dice for the last time, Arsene Wenger sending Robin van Persie on for Abou Diaby.

1728: Liverpool buzzing around in an attempt to cut down Arsenal's time on the ball - none more so than Javier Mascherano, who earns a standing ovation for his closing down of the Gunners' midfield. Daniel Agger, meanwhile, takes a shot right in the mush - the hosts literally putting their bodies on the line at the moment.

1726: Liverpool make their first change of the day, with Maxi Rodriguez replacing debutant Milan Jovanovic.

1723: Is this the start of a backs-to-the-wall effort from Liverpool? With the hosts, understandably, dropping deeper in the face of Arsenal's increased possession, the visitors are getting their foot on the ball again all of a sudden. Liverpool looking very strong in defence so far, though - would we expect anything else from a Roy Hodgson side?

1720: Jack Wilshere and Emmanuel Eboue make way for Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott.

1719: Arsenal get on the ball for the first time really in the half, and Samir Nasri - who looked very good in the first half - earns a corner when his shot on the turn is deflected over. Jack Wilshere directs an effort way off target from the resulting set piece.

1717: Arsenal changes are afoot, with Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky getting ready to come on.

1716: Another chance for Liverpool, David Ngog this time getting on the end of a Steven Gerrard free-kick but succeeding only in heading it over. Should have done better, there.

1713: This is stirring stuff from Liverpool, who have Arsenal well and truly rattled at Anfield. It's another corner for the boys in red.

1712: Infostrada Sports tell us that Liverpool have won their last five Premier League matches at Anfield in which they were reduced to 10 men. This run stretches back nearly nine years.

1655: A disastrous debut for Joe Cole, then, sent off for the first time in his professional career on his Anfield bow. But, having seen the replays again, I have to say the red card is probably justified. He's not gone in there to hurt the player, I'm sure, but he's nowhere near the ball and does catch Lauren Koscielny very heavily. I'll bring you news of the Arsenal defender's health as and when I hear it, but his game is almost certainly done and dusted.

Joe Cole red card: Well well well... Joe Cole flies into a tackle on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny by the corner flag, the Frenchman goes down heavily, and Martin Atkinson wastes no time in brandishing a straight red card. Replays show it was ugly, but a red card? I'm not sure. Cole looks mystified and the fans are livid.

1641: Referee Martin Atkinson dips into his pocket for the first time this match as Jack Wilshere goes in on Javier Mascherano studs up. Deserved booking for the young lad.

1442: Oooh Luciano Beccio should do better. Neil Kilkenny's cross is a good one but Becchio fails to get his head on it six yards out and Wes Morgan is able to clear.

1344: This is a good spell for Leeds, forcing the hosts on to the back foot for the first time in the match, and I'd say the visitors have probably edged the last five minutes or so. Forest still leading 1-0, though.

1340: Great chance for Leeds as Lloyd Sam sets Luciano Becchio free in the box, but the Argentine's first touch is far too heavy and Forest keeper Lee Camp is able to get out and smother.

1337: Leeds finally enjoy a spell of possession as Simon Grayson's side look to battle their way into this match, and Lloyd Sam is furious when a foul is given against him for a challenge on Kelvin Wilson in the box - he wanted it the other way. Replays suggest he might have had a shout actually.

1332: More encouraging for Leeds as they work it to Lloyd Sam in attack, but his shot is well blocked.

1330: Oh, excellent football. Robert Earnshaw and Dexter Blackstock combine at the business end of another lovely Forest move and the former gets clear on goal, only to rocket his finish against the far post.

1329: Leeds are rattled here, and Forest and zipping the ball about with real intent.

Nottm Forest goal: It's been coming. Forest work a short throw-in on the right and Chris Gunter pings a delightful left-footed cross over on the half-volley, allowing Dexter Blackstock to glance a simple header in from eight yards out. Leeds boss Simon Grayson won't be happy with the defending, but that was all about Gunter's excellent cross.

A couple of decades ago this would have been one of the stonking ties across Europe, but the fact Forest and Leeds meet today in the Championship doesn't mean this will be any less competitive or - hopefully - intriguing. Leeds may be new to this division after a three-year stay in League One, but their sights are set far higher, as are Forest's. Both are looking to bounce back after opening-day defeats, however, and Forest are desperate to shake off their 'slow-starters' tag having started last season with one win in eight games and the season before that with one win in 13. They'll hope their midweek Carling Cup exit can somehow spur them on to greater things in the league, while Leeds will hope to build on their midweek win over Lincoln. I'm tipping a classic.
