1936: And that is about all I've got time for. My thanks go to you, for keeping me company, and to FA Cup Cheesy for keeping me up to date with (most of) the goals. See you tomorrow for more of the same, hopefully.

1932: Wayne Rooney's glut of goals for Manchester United are another reason it has been a busy, and exciting old day. We might not have seen the (C)upsets (some of us) wanted but Notts County came very close to beating Wigan and Wolves only just got out of jail against Crystal Palace. I hope you enjoyed it as much of me, and didn't find it quite as exhausting as I did - there were a lot of goals flying in at times!

1927: No Match of the Day tonight but don't forget to join Manish at 2315 GMT on BBC One for the Football League Show.

1925: So, how was the FA Cup fourth-round for you? Hold on, don't tell me yet - we've got two more ties to come tomorrow: Stoke v Arsenal and Scunthorpe v Man City.

1921: Not forgetting Burnley of course, who fell victim to arguably the biggest shock of the day when they lost to Reading. Leeds' performance did it for me, however; as they only managed a draw but they showed great resilience to get a replay.

1919: Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren, who saved Jermain Defoe's penalty to help his side earn a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane to take Spurs back to Elland Road: "It's a great result for us, only a draw but we didn't expect to get much here. It's great for the fans and the club. Scoring goals is what Jermaine Beckford is all about. We always expect that from him because his record is unbelievable. He has done it again against a top-class Premier League team.

1917: Out of the 14 fourth-round ties today, only three will need replays to settle them: Wolves v Crystal Palace, Notts County v Wigan and now Spurs v Leeds. Of the 12 Premier League teams in action today, only Everton, Sunderland and Burnley are out.

1912: Right then. Leeds get their reward for an enterprising display but Spurs probably should have made the game safe before the late penalty drama. I'm not sure either side really wanted a replay either, but I doubt Leeds will be complaining too much.

1911: FULL-TIME Tottenham 2-2 Leeds

Leeds goal: Hows about that then? Seconds after turning down one Leeds penalty shout, Alan Wiley decides that Michael Dawson got too much of Jermaine Beckford as he slid in inside the area. Dawson got the ball, but also caught the man too. That man Jermaine Beckford steps up and shows nerves of steel as he smashes his penalty high into the top corner. A replay it is then.

1908: PENALTY to Leeds

1907: Another big penalty shout for Alan Wiley - this time Leeds want it. Jermaine Beckford runs into the area to meet a low ball but Michael Dawson beats him to it, just. That's how it looked, anyhow.

1906: Leeds still working hard but Tottenham are defending tigerishly... and looking dangerous on the break.

1903: A good spell of pressure by Leeds but they cannot quite work a shooting chance. We're going to have five minutes - time for the visitors to find an equaliser?

1902: Bradley Johnson concedes a free-kick on the edge of the area and is promptly substituted, running off to be replaced by Aidan White. Gareth Bale steps up to fire the free-kick goalwards, but cannot clear the ball.

1900: Robbie Keane has a pop from the edge of the box but it is straight down the middle of the goal and Casper Ankergren collect the ball easily enough.

1859: It's Tottenham who are pressing in the final few minutes, with first Jermaine Jenas and then Gareth Bale embarking on rampaging solo runs without quite managing to find an end product. Leeds' only response seems to be to hit it long and hope it falls for Jermaine Beckford.

From Has, a Liverpool fan bored at home! via text: "Beckford's now scored at Old Trafford and White Hart Lane. Premier League quality? Well now you have to think so, don't you? Hope Leeds win this!"

1854: Time for Leeds boss Simon Grayson to make a change - he brings on Luciano Becchio for Michael Doyle, and the Argentine forward will probably join Jermaine Beckford up front.

1853: Leeds have got around 10 minutes to find an equaliser for a second time. Fancy their chances? I wouldn't write them off just yet.

Tottenham goal: A fantastic move from the home side ends with Roman Pavlyuchenko, who looks to be on his way out of the club, restoring their lead. After good work by Gareth Bale and Wilson Palacios down the left, Pavlyuchenko dummies the resulting cross then latches on to a neat pass from Jermain Defoe before slotting home.

1847: GOALFLASH Tottenham 2-1 Leeds (Pavlyuchenko)

1845: A couple more changes by Spurs. Robbie Keane comes on to face his former club, along with Roman Pavlyuchenko, replacing Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar. By the way, Keane gets a warm reaction from the Leeds contingent.

1843: Whatever the outcome tonight, you can't help but be impressed by Leeds' approach. They have taken the game to Spurs on their own ground, and seem to think they can win. Great work-rate by Simon Grayson's men too.

1841: Jermain Defoe has a snap-shot from the edge of the area but it is easily saved by Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren, who has not had that much to do recently.

Hmmm. Not sure they will agree you on that one... we'll see.

1835: Ah. Forget my 'fact' about Tottenham's record of not conceding goals at 1828. I think I'll get rid of that one quietly before anyone notices...

1835: This game is still very much up for grabs and Leeds do not look as they are going to settle for a replay - Simon Grayson's men are still getting forward whenever they have the ball and, with the supreme pace of Jermaine Beckford, they remain dangerous.

1832: Jason Crowe goes into Alan Wiley's book for a late tackle on Gareth Bale, who was darting down the left flank at full pelt. The young Wales star needs treatment but he's back on his feet now.

1830: A first change by Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp. Wilson Palacios is on for Danny Rose.

1828: That Jermaine Beckford goal was the first one that Tottenham have conceded at home since they lost 1-0 at home to Wolves on 12 December... not that it means much now.

Leeds goal: Leigh Bromby gets a touch on the ball as a corner flashes across the face of goal and, when Tottenham cannot clear, Jermaine Beckford is in the right place to turn the ball over the line from close range. A predatory finish, and Leeds are level.

1825: GOALFLASH Tottenham 1-1 Leeds (Beckford)

1820: Almost the perfect start for Leeds. Jermaine Beckford nips in to intercept a sloppy back-pass by Jermaine Jenas... but his touch to take the ball round Heurelho Gomes is far too heavy and it goes straight out of play for a goal-kick. Chance gone.

1818: Leeds get the second half under way.

From Richard, a Mighty White stuck shopping with the missus, via text: "In response to Zippy, George and Bungle, Leeds are a Premier League club, just in the wrong division. Snodgrass especially realises the reputation and size of this club, much bigger than even some of the current Premiership sides, hence why he is still here, as is Beckford for now."

1809: So, Tottenham hold a narrow lead at half-time but both sides have had their chances in a game that has been wide open so far. Leeds will feel they are still right in this one.

From I tried to teach Bent the offside rule but he wouldnt listen on 606: "Can I just say that Gareth Bale has all it takes to become an outstanding left midfielder. He has pace, and strength at times beats his man with ease."

From Nicolai, from Haderslev in Denmark, via text: "Looking forward to the World Cup in South Africa, and we have good chances to conquer the trophy. Ankergren, Thomas Sorensen and Brian 'The Beast' Jensen will do it for us in the penalties."

1803: HALF-TIME Tottenham 1-0 Leeds

1802: On the stroke of half-time, Tottenham are almost further ahead. Jermaine Jenas picks up the ball in the box and does well to make space for the shot, only to sky his effort over the bar as he falls backwards. A shame, but Leeds do deserve to be in this game at the break.

Tottenham goal: Not even Casper Ankergren can keep this one out, although he tried his best. Gareth Bale gets down the left to the bye-line and pulls the ball back for Niko Kranjcar, who is waiting on the edge of the area. Kranjcar's low shot is saved by Ankergren's foot but the ball is immediately turned into the net by Peter Crouch, who reacted instinctively to meet it.

1757: GOALFLASH Tottenham 1-0 Leeds (Crouch)

BBC Sport's Sam Lyon, Tweeting from White Hart Lane: "Unlike young Rose, Robbie Keane is given a great reception by Leeds fans as he warms up - 'You're Leeds and you know you are' is the cry."

1754: Only seven minutes to go until half-time at White Hart Lane... this game is going very quickly, mainly because it is end-to-end stuff.

From Zippy, George and Bungle on 606: "Snodgrass and Beckford should be playing for a Premier League team. You can see they're a cut above the rest of their Leeds team-mates."

1750: First it was Casper Ankergren, now it is Heurelho Gomes who is hogging the limelight at White Hart Lane. Jermaine Beckford latches on to a long ball through the middle - not sure where the Spurs defence are? - and fires in a rasping shot that Gomes does brilliantly to push away. No way should this game still be goalless.

1748: BBC Sport's Sam Lyon at White Hart Lane: "The Leeds bench are getting increasingly irate at the amount of free-kicks being given in Tottenham's - and Peter Crouch's in particular - around the box. Tottenham's bench, by contrast, have been sitting rather contentedly. Can the hosts turn their chances into goals, though?"

1747: Another chance for Leeds. Jermaine Beckford turns Michael Dawson on the edge of the box and goes for goal, whipping a shot past the far post. Robert Snodgrass isn't happy - he was much better placed in front of goal - but Beckford isn't the sort of striker to pass up a shooting chance.

1744: Blimey. Leeds' first meaningful attack almost results in a goal. Robert Snodgrass, who has been watched by a host of Premier League clubs, finds space for a 25-yard shot that Heurelho Gomes has to push round his post. That was a cracking effort.

1742: Hull boss Phil Brown after his side's 4-0 Premier League defeat by Manchester United: "It was a cruel scoreline. We came up against a very good striker who was on form today, but I feel we should have defended better."

1738: More Spurs pressure and, again, Leeds are lucky, albeit for very different reasons. Jermain Defoe runs clean through on goal and appears to be hauled down by Jason Crowe's desperate challenge as he shapes to shoot. Alan Wiley says no penalty, but the replay shows there was contact. No wonder Defoe was left shaking his head.

1736: Er, I'm not sure how Leeds survived that time - Niko Kranjcar's is bundled away by Casper Ankergren, who cannot catch the ball cleanly and, although it evades the onrushing Peter Crouch, it falls for Jermain Defoe and it takes a brilliant block by Patrick Kisnorbo, and another save by Ankergren, to keep out his shot.

1734: Leeds just cannot keep hold of the ball at the moment - which is not a good thing, in case you were wondering. Tottenham looking very dangerous.

From Myles in London, via text: "Matthew Lewis and Rupert Grint of Harry Potter are at White Hart Lane. Matt Lewis tweeted a photo of them in the stadium. Think he might not be enjoying the opening minutes though as he is a Leeds fan."

1731: What's this? Another save by Casper Ankergren? Change the record please. This time he dives to his left to keep out a curling Gareth Bale free-kick.

1730: Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson after his side beat Hull City 4-0 to go top of the Premier League, with Wayne Rooney scoring all four goals: "Wayne's four goals were the highlight of the match, he is in great goalscoring form right now. We are happy, being top is significant at this stage of the season. I know Chelsea have got games in hand but they have to win those games."

BBC Sport's Sam Lyon, Tweeting from White Hart Lane: "'We're not famous any more' sing Leeds fans. Followed by 'You're only here to watch the Leeds'. Mixed messages? Either way, they're LOUD."

Wow. We've had some start at White Hart Lane and Leeds goalkeeper Casper Ankergren has been outstanding so far. Spurs are awarded a penalty after Michael Doyle fells Danny Rose with a clumsy challenge but, when Jermain Defoe steps up to take the spot-kick, Ankergren plunges to his left to push the ball around the post. A superb save, that.

1723: Another smart stop from Casper Ankergren follows from the resulting corner. The ball is cleared as far as Niko Kranjcar who sees his shot tipped round the post.

1722: The first effort on goal is from Spurs, and it's a clever one. Jermain Defoe collects the ball 30 yards out and tries to lob Casper Ankergren, with the Dane backpedalling to tip it over the bar.

1720: Both teams looking very positive in the opening exchanges at White Hart Lane. Tottenham made the brighter start but Leeds are already trying to give Jermaine Beckford as much of the ball as possible, and we know what he can do.

1715: Tottenham get us started. This one should be tasty...

From Kieran, via text: "It'll be interesting to see what the Wigan v Notts County attendance will be in their replay after the Latics could barely muster 5,000 for a Premier League team in the last round..."

1712: The teams are coming out of the tunnel at White Hart Lane... kick-off of Saturday's final Cup-tie is only a couple of minutes away.

1709: But, on FA Cup fourth-round day, it will be Wayne Rooney who will grab most of the headlines - and Manchester United were not even involved in that competition. He was quite magnificent against Hull and scored all four goals in his side's 4-0 win that sees them move top of the Premier League table.

1705: Mind you, Notts County can count themselves very unlucky not to have seen off Wigan and at least they will get a second bite of the cherry. Honourable mentions too go to Accrington and Brighton, who both held Premier League teams for a while.

1703: Well, I hope I didn't keep you waiting TOO long for goal descriptions there - they tended to come in patches of around 12 at a time rather than being spread evenly throughout the afternoon... very inconsiderate if you ask me. Only two results that could be called 'Cupsets' so far, then - Reading beating Burnley and Southampton seeing off Ipswich... and neither of those can exactly be called massive shocks.

Teenage winger Danny Rose is handed his full debut by Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp against his former club. Elsewhere, Alan Hutton, Sebastien Bassong and Peter Crouch are restored to the starting XI, though another former Leeds player, Robbie Keane, can only make the bench.
Leeds captain Richard Naylor injured his hamstring in midweek so he misses the trip, Patrick Kisnorbo taking his place in central defence, while Michael Doyle replaces Mike Grella in the other change to the side that lost to Carlisle on Tuesday.

1700: Full-time at the Hawthorns... er, can I get my breath back now?

Newcastle goal: Andy Carroll notches his second of the game, twisting and turning before firing past Scott Carson. The Magpies have six minutes of injury time to score two more.

1659: FULL-TIME EVERYWHERE APART FROM THE HAWTHORNS

Cardiff goal: And that must be game over now. With Leicester piling forward in search of an equaliser, the Bluebirds break, Ross McCormack slotting home to make the game safe.

Brighton goal: A Jim McNulty cross falls for Nicky Forster inside the area, who drives his shot low into the bottom corner.

1656: GOALFLASH Cardiff 4-2 Leicester

Derby goal: Finally the deadlock is broken at Pride Park thanks to sub Jay McEveley's stunning left-foot drive from 25 yards.

Ipswich goal: Pablo Counago finishes from six yards to make it a frantic finish at St Mary's - and there are five minutes of added time to be played.

Cardiff goal: Late, late drama at the Cardiff City Stadium where Chris Burke rams the ball home from close range to give the hosts the lead in a five-goal thriller.

Man Utd goal: Um, yet another goal for Wayne Rooney, who makes it 4-0 with a low shot into the corner to complete his first ever four-goal haul. Looks like Manchester United are going top of the Premier League in style tonight.

1651: GOALFLASH Derby 1-0 Doncaster

Man Utd 3-0: Nani sends in a cross from the right wing, which Wayne Rooney meets with a firm header into the bottom corner to complete his hat-trick. Another superb display by the England striker.

Wigan goal: Maybe we won't see another Cupset today after all. The Latics trailed 2-0 but are now level, as Ben Watson prods home their equaliser from close range when a corner isn't cleared.

Bolton goal: Owen Coyle closes in on his first win as Bolton boss - and maybe he can coax the best out of the Trotters' goal-shy striker Johan Elmander. The Swedish substitute manages to stay onside and runs in on goal, driving home a superb effort from a tight angle.

Wolves goal: An absolute pearler of a volley by Ronald Zubar rescues a replay for Mick McCarthy's men after he has the composure to control Kevin Foley's cross.

1647: GOALFLASH Wolves 2-2 Crystal Palace (Zubar)

Man Utd 2-0: With an injured Hull defender prone on the ground in front of goal, Wayne Rooney finds space in the box to smash in a drive to make it 2-0. Hull had failed to clear the ball after United had hit the frame of the goal.

1645: GOALFLASH Aston Villa 3-2 Brighton (Forster)

1644: GOALFLASH Bolton 2-0 Sheff Utd (Elmander)

1642: GOALFLASH Notts County 2-2 Wigan (Watson)

Third West Brom goal: Cruel for Newcastle. Shola Ameobi is denied a penalty after being sandwiched between two defenders, the ball is hoofed straight upfield and Ryan Taylor brings down Jerome Thomas in the box. The ref says penalty and sends Taylor off, before Graham Dorrans calmly tucks away his second spot-kick of the game. The Magpies' 14-game unbeaten run looks on shaky ground.

1639: GOALFLASH West Brom 4-1 Newcastle (Thomas)

Cardiff goal: Is this all-Championship clash heading for a replay? Looks like it. Peter Whittingham finishes from inside the box to draw the hosts level.

Fulham goal: Bjorn Helge Riise crosses from the right and Zoltan Gera finds the net with a first-time finish. That should put Fulham safe against the lowest-ranked team left in the Cup.

1638: GOALFLASH Accrington 1-3 Fulham (Gera)

Southampton goal: The League One side close in on a Championship scalp - and Roy Keane's hopes of a fourth Cup winners' medal are slipping away for this season. Rickie Lambert's free kick deflects off the wall, leaving Michail Antonio with an easy tap-in from two yards.

1637: Everton are pushing for an equaliser but, even if they do bow out of the Cup today, they have had SOME good news. Their main playmaker Mikel Arteta, who has been out since February 2009 with a cruciate ligament injury, has just come off the bench. Good to see him back.

1636: West Brom 3-1 Newcastle (Dorrans pen)

1636: RED CARD Newcastle's Ryan Taylor (professional foul)

1635: GOALFLASH Southampton 2-0 Ipswich (Antonio)

1633: I told you Man Utd were living dangerously. The ball bounces around the United area and Kamel Ghilas take a pot-shot that flies an inch wide.

1633: GOALFLASH Cardiff 2-2 Leicester (Whittingham)

Everton goal: David Moyes' half-time introduction of Leon Osman has revitalised Everton. Fed by Steven Pienaar, Osman sweeps home from outside the area to reduce Birmingham's lead to 2-1. It's all Everton just now.

1630: Manchester United are still well on top against Hull and are still creating - and missing chances. While the Tigers remain 1-0 down they are still in this game but Phil Brown's side will have to mount a serious attack first, something they haven't done since the break.

Newcastle goal: Jonas Gutierrez races down the left and pulls it back for Andy Carroll to hammer a net-busting volley past Scott Carson. Hope for the Magpies?

1627: Some early team news from White Hart Lane where teenage winger Danny Rose will make his full debut for Spurs against his former club Leeds in our 1715 GMT kick-off. Robbie Keane is not starting for Tottenham though.

1625: GOALFLASH West Brom 2-1 Newcastle (Carroll)

Portsmouth goal: Simple as you like by Pompey, who trailed 1-0 but now lead 2-1. A Sunderland goal-kick is headed back by Younes Kaboul, John Utaka races on to it and finishes calmly to score his second of the game.

Villa goal: A precise through ball from James Milner finds Fabian Delph in space in front of goal and he coolly finishes with his left foot. That's Delph's first goal for Aston Villa and it gives them a bit of breathing space against Brighton.

Fulham goal: Heartbreak for Accrington, as they are caught out by a sucker-punch from Fulham. After a quick free-kick, Erik Nevland plays in Damien Duff, who runs clear to fire home with his left foot despite the best efforts of Stanley keeper Dean Bouzanis.

1620: GOALFLASH Portsmouth 2-1 Sunderland (Utaka)

1619: GOALFLASH Accrington 1-2 Fulham (Duff)

1618: GOALFLASH Aston Villa 3-1 Brighton (Delph)

Palace goal: Four minutes into the second half, and the Championship side retake the lead. Darren Ambrose steps up and curls home a lovely free-kick from 25 yards for his 14th goal of season.

Just when a (C)upset looked almost certain, up pops Jason Scotland to bring Wigan back into the match with his first goal since joining them in the summer. The Latics striker plays a lovely one-two with Hugo Rodallega inside the box and takes his opportunity well to finish beyond Kasper Schmeichel. Game on. Can the Magpies hold their nerve?

1616: Everton 1-2 Birmingham (Osman)

1615: Ten-man Accrington are still holding their own against Fulham - and they almost have the lead. Bobby Grant ghosts into the box to meet a Michael Symes cross with a volley that fizzes inches wide. Fulham are still looking lively, though, and, at the other end, Damien Duff forces a good save out of Dean Bouzanis.

1613: GOALFLASH Wolves 1-2 Crystal Palace (Ambrose)

1612: GOALFLASH Notts County 2-1 Wigan (Scotland)

Bolton goal: Deadlock broken at the Reebok. Kevin Davies turns the defender and provides the pass for Gretar Steinsson to stab home from tight angle. A cracking finish and that's the Icelander's first FA Cup goal.

1608: GOALFLASH Bolton 1-0 Sheffield United (Steinsson)

1607: Ouch. One of the linesmen at Old Trafford is out for the count after a nasty collision with Hull's Craig Fagan, who was chasing a loose ball and did not even notice the official. He's back on his feet now, finally, but is looking very uncertain on his feet and is feeling his jaw very painfully.

Villa goal: Oh dear, bad news for Seagulls fans. Brighton have got it all to do again at Villa Park after Stewart Downing escapes down the left and Ashley Young meets his cross to head home. Yes, that's right HEAD home. I've never seen Young do that before.

1604: We are back under way everywhere except The Hawthorns...

1603: GOALFLASH Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton (Young)

FA Cup Cheesy: "I imagine you might be wondering what on earth's going on at the Reebok Stadium... Right? Well, not a lot, if the stats are anything to do by. Sheffield United have managed one shot on target, Bolton a whopping three. Not surprisingly, it's 0-0. The first time those two sides met in the FA Cup - way back in 1890 - Bolton won 13-0. It's a similarly drab affair at Pride Park where Derby and Doncaster have mustered a grand total of three shots on target between them. Magic."

Birmingham goal: I knew we'd forgotten one, sorry. Barry Ferguson caps a flowing Birmingham move with an unerring left-foot strike to heap further woe on Everton, who look a shadow of the side that performed so impressively against Manchester City last week.

From Macheda_The_Messiah, via text: "Ferguson and Benitez score against Everton! Pity they haven't got a sub called Kendall to try to get them back into it!"

1320: Preston have been under a lot of pressure for most of the first half but they remain dangerous on the break and have just gone close to scoring. A swift counter-attack sees Michael Hart combine with Chris Brown, who tries to set up Richard Chaplow but gets slightly too much on his pass. The ball runs through to Hilario instead.

1318: Another free-kick for Chelsea, and a much better one this time. Frank Lampard rolls the ball to Alex, who sends in a swerving shot that takes a slight deflection but is beaten away by Andy Lonergan. Another decent stop.

1313: Controversy? Not really... Chelsea put the ball in the net from a nicely-worked move that ends with Florent Malouda sliding home from a cross - but their celebrations are cut short because Mike Dean has already stopped play for a foul on Frank Lampard. The visitors, perhaps understandably, are not happy - especially when Michael Ballack fires the ensuing free-kick straight at the wall.

1310: Some hefty tackles have been flying in the first 25 minutes at Deepdale and we've just seen our first yellow card, with Michael Hart booked for a wild lunge at Florent Malouda. Referee Mike Dean is going to have a busy afternoon, on this evidence.

1308: Chelsea are forced into a change, with the injured Juliano Belletti coming off and replaced by Florent Malouda.

1306: Er, have any of you ever seen that old John Carpenter film 'The Fog'? The scene at Deepdale is a bit like that to be honest, with a mist lingering just above the stadium, possibly containing the angry spirits of deceased cotton-mill workers. I'm a bit scared but hopefully they are just there to watch the match.

1303: A decent effort for Chelsea as Yuri Zhirkov plays a one-two with Frank Lampard and runs on to the flicked return pass before slamming a volley goalwards... but Preston goalkeeper Andy Longergan is equal to it, saving with his legs at his near post. Oh, and I'm told Grzegorz Rasiak has just put three half-chances wide for Reading, which doesn't really surprise me. How about you?

1300: Not a lot to report from Reading v Burnley so far, apart from the fact there are four Icelandic players on show. At Deepdale, Preston are still keeping Chelsea at arm's length and Paulo Ferreira has just sent over a woeful cross from the right that looped straight out of play.

1255: Chelsea are enjoying most of the meaningful possession so far but Preston have just had their own half-chance when a deep cross was headed back across goal by Chris Brown for Richard Chaplow and Hilario had to punch the ball clear.

Hmmm. I'm not sure Leeds fans will appreciate being called 'minnows'?

1251: BBC Sport's Phil McNulty at Deepdale: "New Preston boss Darren Ferguson gets a rousing reception for his first home game - with his new charges announced on the PA system as "Darren Ferguson's Preston." I thought that was an honour only afforded to "Phil Brown's Hull City?"

1249: It's all very scrappy, not to mention noisy, at Preston so far. That midfield looks very crowded and nobody has had any time to settle on the ball.

1247: And they've started at the Madejski Stadium too - not the biggest crowd there today, apparently.

Reading make three changes to the side that lost to Nottingham Forest with top-scorer Gylfi Sigurdsson, Grzegorz Rasiak and Brynjar Gunnarsson coming in for Jay Tabb, Gunnar Thorvaldsson and Kalifa Cisse. Burnley boss Brian Laws names a strong line-up for the tie, making three changes to the team which lost at Manchester United last week. Joey Gudjonsson, Chris McCann and Steve Thompson come in. Stephen Jordan, Steven Fletcher and the ineligible David Nugent miss out.

1219: So does the Cup still matter to you? I hope so - it does to me. But I know one place that won't be getting into the spirit of things today - Old Trafford. That's because Manchester United were victims of one of the biggest shocks in the competition's recent history when they lost at home to Leeds in round three, they are free to play Hull (who were knocked out by Wigan) in the Premier League instead (at 1500 GMT). A win will send Sir Alex Ferguson's men top.

1217: There are 14 ties today, starting with Preston against holders Chelsea and Reading versus Burnley, which both kick off at 1245 GMT, and we finish off with Tottenham v Leeds at 1715 GMT. Magic? I hope so.

1214: Yep, as you've probably seen or heard, the Carling Cup gave us a few semi-final thrills and spills earlier in the week. Wasn't bad, was it? And now to find out what the FA Cup has got in stall for us on fourth-round weekend...
