1934: I expect there'll be some extensive highlights of today's Premier League action on BBC One's Match of the Day at 2230 GMT. And The Football League Show follow it, featuring the controversial Sammy Clingan goal, which may or may not be better than the Di Canio volley. I'll see you again tomor... whenever this ruddy snow melts.

1930: Birmingham's incredible run goes on as they set a new club record of 12 top-flight games without defeat. They stay eighth, but are now level on points with Liverpool. Manchester United miss the chance to go top, and are a point behind Chelsea having played a game more.

1928: FULL-TIME Birmingham 1-1 Man Utd

1928: Wes Brown thunders into Cameron Jerome to give away a free-kick and pick up a yellow. Brown heads away the set-piece.

1925: About halfway through Fergie time, but it's Birmingham on the attack. Alex McLeish looks nervous, Fergie perplexed.

1922: Antonio Valencia runs into trouble in his own half on the right, and gives away a free-kick in his desperation to win the ball back. Typical of today's game. SIX MINUTES of stoppage time. Birmingham's management team cannot believe their eyes.

1920: Two minutes remaining of the 90.

Red card: Cameron Jerome flicks the ball past Darren Fletcher and the United midfielder leaves his left leg hanging, tripping the Birmingham striker. Second yellow and an early bath for Fletcher. Fergie doesn't look too pleased with that decision - you may not be surprised to learn.

1916: RED CARD Man Utd (Fletcher)

1915: Change for Birmingham as Sebastian Larsson is replaced by Keith Fahey.

1914: Summer signing Mame Biram Diouf comes on to make his Manchester United debut, replacing Paul Scholes. Michael Owen still kicking his heels on the bench, that World Cup place slipping further and further away from his grasp.

1911: Yellow for Sebastian Larsson for a foul on Patrice Evra. The home fans are starting to think nothing's going to go their way.

1908: A free-kick for United just outside the box, but Wayne Rooney's just clips the top of the jumping defender in the wall. Still about 15 minutes remaining.

1903: Birmingham have won all eight league games in which they have scored first this season. Chucho Benitez nearly restores the lead with a brilliant turn and run in the box - but the shot is a good height for Tomasz Kuszczak.

1859: And once the goal is given, Fergie is pictured trotting off down the tunnel. Has he been sent off? No. He's back now, the suspicion being that he may have been caught short. Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs replaces Ji-Sung Park.

Man Utd goal: Confusion reigns at St Andrew's as United celebrate an equaliser - while the linesman flags furiously. Paul Scholes's shot is blocked but the ball comes to Patrice Evra, who drives the ball in for Ji-Sung Park but Scott Dann gets there first, deflecting into his own net. Mark Clattenburg runs over to the linesman and they have a bit of a chat before the ref awards the goal. The linesman appears to have been flagging for offside against Wayne Rooney, but Clattenburg seems to think he's not interfering.

1855: GOALFLASH Birmingham 1-1 Man Utd

1854: James McFadden plays Cameron Jerome into space on the right of the box, but his cross doesn't find anyone. Wasted opportunity there.

1852: And now Rafael's cross goes over Joe Hart and into the crowd. Not his greatest couple of minutes - but the home fans are loving it.

1851: Rafael takes his eye off the ball, and it goes under his foot and out for a throw-in to Birmingham. Fergie fumes.

1849: Wayne Rooney pings a good first-time ball out to Antonio Valencia, but it's got too much pace for the winger and he can't control it. Rooney cutting a very frustrated figure at the moment. Changes must be imminent for United.

1845: James McFadden pressurises Rafael into giving away possession, and the Brazilian, in his desperation to make amends, gives away a free-kick with a foul on Lee Bowyer. Nothing from it for Birmingham though.

1840: Birmingham win a corner, and it's a poor one by Sebastian Larsson - but Wayne Rooney's clearance is headed straight back into the danger zone, and Chucho Benitez chests it down in a flash and gets his shot away - Tomasz Kuszczak making a smart save.

1837: We're off again. No changes - yet.

1836: Fergie's sent his players packing quick smart and they're out on the pitch a good few minutes before Birmingham. Fleas in ears, I should think.

1833: The band just got booed off. Something to do with Britain's Got Talent, I think the announcer said. Terrible, anyway.

From Rob, Barnsley, via text: "Just to lower expectations from Adam in Coventry (1804), Clingan's volley took a deflection and doesn't compare to Di Canio's. Sorry pal."

1831: Wait a minute. They might not be miming. They've moved on to a Proclaimers number now, which sounds nothing like the original.

1828: Anyone at St Andrew's? The half-time entertainment appears to involve a band miming along to a Black Eyed Peas track while kicking a football around. Is that about right? Odd, if so.

1823: As it stands, Birmingham are seventh, behind Man City and Aston Villa on goal difference. United are two points behind leaders Chelsea, but having played a game more.

1821: HALF-TIME Birmingham 1-0 Man Utd

From stellamike on 606: "Birmingham are doing what teams should do against us. Defending well and scoring on the break. The onus is on us to score from all the possession we have . You can have 100% possession , but if you don't score..."

1817: Darren Fletcher gets the first yellow for a tackle from behind on Lee Bowyer. Pure frustration from the United midfielder.

1816: And now Birmingham counter-attack dangerously, but Chucho Benitez's touch lets him down and Patrice Evra prevents him laying the ball off to Cameron Jerome. United have had 67% of the possession so far and have seen Birmingham score with their second shot.

Birmingham goal: That's what you call a sucker punch. With seven minutes until half-time, Chucho Benitez wins the far-post header from a corner, and the ball eventually comes to Cameron Jerome, who slots in from six yards.

1813: GOALFLASH Birmingham 1-0 Man Utd (Jerome)

1812: Hold on, Birmingham on a rare attack. Chucho Benitez makes space for a shot but Paul Scholes arrives to deflect it behind for a corner...

1810: Rafael's shot is blocked by the face of Liam Ridgewell, and Joe Hart catches the deflected follow-up from Michael Carrick. It's all United - but Birmingham holding out.

1808: United want a penalty as Michael Carrick's thumping shot appears to hit at arm. Mark Clattenburg says no. If it did hit an arm, I'm not sure the Birmingham player could have done anything about it. The ball was going at about 100mph.

1807: Boos from the home fans as Chucho Benitez goes down injured in the centre circle following what looks like a foul by Paul Scholes. Nothing given, and play goes on - but Ji-Sung Park is eventually crowded out in the penalty area.

1804: Michael Carrick wins the ball on the left, and United work the ball infield, desperately look for a shooting opportunity - but they are forced backwards. Eventually, they do win a free-kick, but Antonio Valencia's effort is charged down.

From Adam in Coventry, via text: "People need to watch the Football League show tonight. Bit of plugging for you. Sammy Clingan's goal was better than 'that' Di Canio volley."

1758: Alex McLeish will be fuming as Liam Ridgewell gives the ball away to Antonio Valencia. The winger releases Wayne Rooney with a lovely ball, but Joe Hart smothers the shot. United starting to threaten now.

1757: Rafael's just got his last warning from Mark Clattenburg, who very deliberately shows him three fingers and counts off his fouls. Wayne Rooney's determination wins him the ball on the left and he clips a cross towards Antonio Valencia at the far post, but the ball dribbles wide.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on the 2-2 draw with Everton: "It was close at times to being 3-1 but we managed to bring it back to 2-2 and I think that was down to our tremendous spirit that we were able to claim a point."

1751: This isn't a great spectacle, if I'm honest. Birmingham are working ever so hard to close down Manchester United - and it's doing the trick.

1748: Darren Fletcher tees up Paul Scholes just outside the box. Dangerous - but the shot is deflected behind. Scholes is on 99 Premier League goals.

From Confident Blues Man, via text: "If Birmingham win by nine goals - one more than the entire amount of goals they've scored at St Andrew's this season - they will be joint fifth with Aston Villa and Man City."

1742: And now it's all a bit quiet as both teams seek midfield supremacy. Here's a stat to fill the gap: Manchester United have never lost to Birmingham in the Prem and are unbeaten against the Blues in 22 games.

1737: Manchester United pressuring already. Darren Fletcher's snapshot is deflected behind off Barry Ferguson for an early corner.

1734: Away they go at St Andrew's.

1728: Tomorrow's games would have been draws by the way - if you believe the Pools Panel. Out come the players at St Andrew's. Pitch looks lovely.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish: "We know one day we'll lose a game but we hope we don't lose it tonight and can give United a run for their money. I'm sure there wont be any complacency - a team like Man United should bring out the very best in people."

Everton boss David Moyes after the 2-2 draw at Arsenal: "We played really well and deserved a victory. We are really disappointed that we didn't win it. We had better chances than Arsenal and a lot of possession - we deserved more than a point."

1722: Want to know what happened in those Prem games that were postponed today? Here's the Pools Panel's verdict: Burnley beat Stoke, Fulham beat Portsmouth, Hull lost to Chelsea, Sunderland beat Bolton, Wigan lost to Aston Villa.

1718: There is now some confusion over whether Togo will play in the Africa Cup of Nations. The team earlier announced they had pulled out following yesterday's horrific attack, but an Angolan government source is now saying that they have been persuaded to stay. More on that if and when we hear anything.

1714: Ah. Ryan Giggs is on the bench. Who said he was starting? Eh? Eh??? Sorry folks. Mame Biram Diouf is also on the bench, by the way, after being loaned back to Molde for the first half of the season.

1706: TEAM NEWS Birmingham v Man Utd
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish names an unchanged side for the ninth league game in a row. The Blues are without Lee Carsley (ankle) and Stuart Parnaby (back) who were injured on FA Cup duty. Dimitar Berbatov is dropped as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson makes seven changes from the side that lost in the FA Cup to Leeds - the 100th successive game he has tinkered. Paul Scholes returns to the starting line-up while Wes Brown and Jonny Evans are retained in central defence.

Football League Macca: "It's all over at Leeds where the League One leaders have dropped points for only the fourth time this season. Wycombe earn a deserved point at Elland Road. Norwich made it a ninth straight home win with a 3-1 victory over Exeter. In the Championship, Cardiff have held on to earn a 1-1 draw with Blackpool, Scunthorpe smacked Derby 4-1 and Coventry have just made it 3-1 in the closing stages at home to Barnsley - Clinton Morrison the scorer."

1659: Phew. That should have warmed you up. Everton denied a first league win in 14 attempts at Arsenal by an injury-time deflected effort by sub Tomas Rosicky. Arsenal, nonetheless, stay third and are three points behind leaders Chelsea.

1658: FULL-TIME Arsenal 2-2 Everton

1657: Vaughan and Traore back on their feet now and we go again...

1656: Arsenal threatening a winner now, but Andrey Arshavin's cross clips an Everton defender and the Toffees survive... BUT WAIT... Everton counter-attack and Armand Traore and James Vaughan collide, both collapsing in a frozen heap. And breathe.

Arsenal goal: Typically slick Arsenal move - but Everton are so unlucky with the finish. One-touch passing opens up the defence, Abou Diaby providing the perfect pass for Tomas Rosicky, whose shot loops off defender Lucas Neill and over Tim Howard.

1654: GOALFLASH Arsenal 2-2 Everton (Rosicky)

1652: Five minutes of added time at the Emirates Stadium.

Football League Macca: "It's all gone a bit messy for Nigel Clough as his Derby side now trail 4-1 at home to Scunny. Garry Thompson almost grabs a hat-trick but his effort is blocked, however sub Jonathan Forte is there to score."

1649: Dimitar Berbatov has indeed dropped out of the Manchester United team - and isn't even on the bench. Paul Scholes comes into the team, as Wayne Rooney plays in the middle of what looks like a front three. Birmingham unchanged.

Football League Macca: "Norwich are flying and it looks like the Canaries are heading for a ninth straight win at home. Chris Martin has his 13th of the season. Hold on a minute, Exeter have a goal back as Marcus Stewart gives them hope by making it 2-1 moments later. Are you kidding me? It's 3-1 to Norwich now as Grant Holt goes through and makes it 3-1. It's also 3-1 at Pride Park and Scunny look home and dry as Garry Thompson has put them two goals clear of Derby."

1645: Denilson is carried off on a stretcher. The Brazilian collapsed with no one near him - a back injury? Fran Merida - linked with a move back to Spain in the transfer window - is on.

1644: Denilson dramatically falls down injured in the centre circle, but ref Peter Walton waves play on. Sub James Vaughan is sent clear and could wrap it up for Everton - but Manuel Almunia saves. That would have been a very controversial goal.

Everton goal: Devastating break by the visitors. Tim Cahill holds the ball up and then releases Steven Pienaar, who canters through and impudently lifts the ball over Manuel Almunia. Unbelievable.

1641: GOALFLASH Arsenal 1-2 Everton (Pienaar)

1640: From one end to the other. Tim Cahill holds off a couple of challenges and gets to the byeline on the left, but his cutback can't find either of his waiting Everton team-mates. Up the other end, Andrey Arshavin tries to take on the entire Everton defence - but is eventually crowded out.

1638: The stadium announcer reveals the attendance is over 60,000. It's not.

1637: Almost a calamity for Everton as Tim Howard and Lucas Neill both go for the same ball in the area, but the defender gets to it first and heads behind. Arsenal fans shouting for a penalty again as Thomas Vermaelen falls over Phil Neville as the cross comes in. Optimistic.

1636: Crunch. Now Tim Howard takes a boot in the chest as Eduardo leads with his foot high. That's the Arsenal striker's last contribution. Carlos Vela is on - and for Everton, James Vaughan replaces Louis Saha.

1633: It's all going on. Another Arsenal corner and Phil Neville produces a brilliant block to deny Thomas Vermaelen and then follows through to prevent Denilson getting to the rebound. Arsenal fans are screaming for a penalty as Denilson lies in the area - but Neville looked to win the ball legitimately.

1631: Eduardo is inches away from converting Armand Traore's cross into the corridor of uncertainty. It comes off an Everton defender and it's a corner: Denilson drives a shot just over.

Football League Macca: "Leeds, conquerors of Manchester United last weekend, have been pegged back by Wycombe and it's been coming for a while. JP Pitman has been rewarded for a fine performance with the equaliser."

1630: Some urgency from Arsenal as Bacary Sagna delivers a quick cross from the right. Tim Howard comes for it and gets in a vital punch ahead of Tomas Rosicky. Everton substitution: Landon Donovan off, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov on.

1628: Snow starting to settle on the pitch now, and Denilson is the first to suffer, slipping over as he passes infield.

1626: Arsene Wenger makes the first change of the game. Tomas Rosicky replaces the disappointing Aaron Ramsey.

1624: As the snow swirls around the Emirates Stadium, Louis Saha's shot is deflected wide. Corner for Everton - and Peter Walton has to sort out some pushing and shoving in the box. Marouane Fellaini involved, you may not be surprised to learn. Arsenal clear eventually.

Football League Macca: "It's game on at Pride Park as well as the hosts have a goal back through Kris Commons, who has only just come on as a sub. Derby still trail 2-1 to Scunny but there's still over half an hour to go."

1618: Eduardo goes on another wriggling run on the edge of the box. The ball breaks towards Aaron Ramsey, who beats Tim Howard to it and tries to cross it in - but Howard recovers to get the ball clear.

Football League Macca: "Just 28 seconds into the second half and Cardiff's fragile defence is opened up. Blackpool have an equaliser as Charlie Adam strolls through and helps himself to a leveller. And now it's game back on at the Ricoh Arena as Barnsley, who have enjoyed more than their fair share of comebacks this season, have pulled one back away to Cov. Jon Macken is the scorer with a header from an Adam Hammill cross. Scunny's second goal at Derby has now been given to Garry Thompson, not Paul Hayes, if you're interested."

1617: Leon Osman escapes the Arsenal defence again, this time to meet a corner from the left, but he's a long way out and can't get any purchase on his header.

1615: So far, I've seen Arsenal fans over on 606 demanding Arsene Wenger buy: a keeper, a central defender, a defensive midfielder and a striker. Anything else?

1612: Landon Donovan beats Armand Traore on the right and drives into the box. He gets the ball back from Tim Cahill but then makes a mess of his cross to the far post. The American's pace is troubling the Arsenal defence though.

1610: Blizzard conditions at the Emirates Stadium now. Eduardo crosses from the left but Marouane Fellaini beats Aaron Ramsey to head behind.

1608: Landon Donovan wins a free-kick about 40 yards out for Everton but Leighton Baines's lofted effort is too deep and Manuel Almunia collects.

1606: Teams back out at the Emirates, which is nowhere near full incidentally. BBC 5 live report that Dimitar Berbatov is likely to drop out of the Manchester United team to face Birmingham in the 1730 GMT kick-off, with Wayne Rooney playing on his own up front. Second half under way now in north London.

1601: This just in: Angolan Prime Minister Paulo Kassoma insists the Africa Cup of Nations will go ahead, despite the Togo team coming under fire yesterday and today withdrawing from the tournament. "The prime minister considers the incident in Cabinda as an isolated act and repeated that the security of Togo's team and the other squads is guaranteed," Kassoma's office said in a statement.

From Jenny at Elland Road, via text: "Most fans chose not to boo or cheer Beckford - who is wearing gloves by the way. Very indifferent feeling here. Some boos but generally hushed. Unfortunately Leeds suffering an FA Cup hangover, despite the goal."

1555: Landon Donovan had a good first half, I thought, although an Arsenal fan sitting near me reckons that's all down to Armand Traore's abilities as a left-back.

1550: HALF-TIME Arsenal 1-1 Everton

Football League Macca: "It's coming up to half-time but still time to squeeze in another goal in the Football League. It's come at Pride Park where the home side have slipped 2-0 behind courtesy of Paul Hayes's effort. Derby could be heading for a third straight defeat and they hear the boos as the whistle goes."

1546: Steven Pienaar comes in hard on Bacary Sagna as the Arsenal defender runs on to a Manuel Aluminia throw-out. He'll go off for a bit more treatment...

1544: Armand Traore gives the ball away in midfield and Everton can drive forward. Landon Donovan sweeps the play out to the left but Leighton Baines' cross doesn't beat the first man.

1542: Phil Neville's clipped cross-shot lands on the roof of the net. Decent move by Everton. Very even now this game.

1538: Phil Neville swings over a deep cross from the right - and Manuel Almunia comes but gets nowhere near. Tim Cahill heads it back across goal, but there's no one there to apply the finishing touch and Thomas Vermaelen can clear.

1537: Eduardo wriggles through a couple of tackles and then runs into Marouane Fellaini's challenge on the edge of the box. Big shout for a free-kick from the home fans - but Peter Walton says no. Probably the correct decision too.

Football League Macca: "Coventry get in among the goals as Freddy Eastwood nods in his sixth league goal of the season from close range to put them 1-0 up at home to Barnsley. Goals 1 Big Freeze 0... And now a second. Two goals in less than three minutes for red-hot Coventry as Sammy Clingan doubles their lead at home to previously in-form Barnsley."

Arsenal goal: Andrey Arshavin passes inside to Eduardo, who lays the ball off to Denilson. The Brazilian's shot from just outside the box takes a huge deflection off the unlucky Leon Osman to wrong-foot Tim Howard.

1529: GOALFLASH Arsenal 1-1 Everton (Denilson)

1525: Problems here. William Gallas pulls up suddenly as he's running back towards his own goal. Looks like a back problem - which would make sense, because someone earlier texted in to say the defender had pulled up in the warm-up. The Arsenal defender is back on now though.

1523: Arsenal coming to life now. Some rash play from Landon Donovan gives possession back to Arsenal and eventually William Gallas lifts the ball over Tim Howard but Leighton Baines hooks it clear.

Football League Macca: "It's a goalfest in the Football League - unless you're at Coventry - as Gary Hooper pops one in for Scunthorpe at Derby after good work from Martyn Woolford."

1520: Leon Osman scored a ninth-minute opener in this fixture last season. Arsenal went on to win 3-1. Just thought I'd mention it. The Gunners haven't really got started yet.

Football League Macca: "Goals at Cardiff and Norwich and both to the hosts. Grant Holt has notched to put Norwich in front at home to Exeter while Mark Hudson has made it 1-0 to Cardiff against Blackpool. Things are warming up already."

Everton goal: Landon Donovan takes his first corner for Everton - and it's a beauty. No one tracks Leon Osman's run and the midfielder powers in a header, which Denilson on the line can do nothing about.

1514: GOALFLASH Arsenal 0-1 Everton (Osman)

From tony_mcfadden on Twitter: "I wonder how long it will be before someone sticks their hands in Fellaini's hair to keep them warm."

1511: Louis Saha - onside this time from a lovely Steven Pienaar ball - shrugs off the challenge, but blazes over from a good position just inside the box.

1509: Louis Saha has the ball in the net for Everton - but he's clearly offside. Vermaelen back on now for Arsenal.

Football League Macca: "We have a goal. Take that Big Freeze. Wycombe's defence is left stuck in the snow and Leeds's Jonathan Howson goes and bangs one in from all of 22-and-a-half yards. Brrrrilliant."

1506: A delay already as Thomas Vermaelen takes an accidental smack from Louis Saha. He goes for more treatment. Landon Donovan has started on the right for Everton, with Tim Cahill supporting Saha.

1504: That earlier texter has definitely lost his bet. Lots of players without gloves, and so far I've spotted Leighton Baines and Tim Cahill with short-sleeved shirts. Arsene Wenger's got his puffa jacket on now. Phew.

1502: Off we go at the Emirates, where it is snowing - hence I've got an orange ball out of my graphics pocket. I miss the orange ball.

Football League Macca: "The Big Freeze may have got the better of most of the games this weekend, but there's a potential cracker at Cardiff today, where the financially-troubled Bluebirds meet Blackpool. Last time out Cardiff threw away a 4-0 lead against Peterborough. A 3-0 Blackpool win will see them jump above Cardiff and into fourth place."

1500: Here come the players then. Arsene Wenger hasn't even got a coat on! Madness!

1457: Hey, people who live in hot countries, I appreciate you texting in and all - but if you could stop crowing about the scorching temperatures, I'd appreciate it.

1455: Never mind the players, I've just seen a fan at the Emirates without gloves on. Foolhardy.

1452: The Emirates Stadium is very sparsely populated at the moment - although I'm sure many fans will be staying in the warmth and downing Bovril for as long as possible.

1448: Arsenal will go second with victory over Everton at least until Manchester United meet Birmingham later. The Gunners have won 12 and drawn one of their last 13 league encounters with the Toffees at home.

Everton's on-loan forward Landon Donovan: "There'll be an adjustment period - but I think I'll be fine. The excitement's been building and now I just want to get on the pitch and play."

From Neil, Manchester, via text: "Re text at 1430: I'd be surprised if Leon Osman is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, let alone gloves."

1436: Jermaine Beckford does start for League One leaders Leeds against Wycombe.
