Richard Hadlee New Zealand431 wkts in 86 Tests Hadlee was the first cricketer ever to be knighted while still playing as the scorecards for his last two Tests on New Zealand's 1990 tour of England show.

Kapil Dev India434 wkts in 131 Tests The allrounder often the only threatening pace bowler in the India side became the first bowler to deliver more than 27000 balls in Tests on the way to breaking the record in his 130th match.
2000
Courtney Walsh West Indies519 wkts in 132 Tests Walsh was 37 when he passed Kapil Dev in a match at home to Zimbabwe. He played for a further year becoming the first bowler to pass 500 wickets.
2004
Muttiah Muralitharan Sri Lanka521 wkts in 89 Tests In terms of matches played Muralitharan was the fastest ever to 300 400 and 500 Test wickets and aged just 32 has set his sights on 650.
