IBF super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy was on top of Runcorn's Robin Reid from the opening bell in Florida
Reid, who was intent on holding Lacy at every opportunity, was floored by a low blow in the third round
Reid was decked twice in the fifth following a headbutt by the Englishman which drew howls from the St Petersburg natives
Reid, 34, was felled in the sixth and seventh and his trainer Bryan Hughes pulled him out before the eighth
Lacy, 28, is now careering towards a unification match with Joe Calzaghe in Wales in November
