WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko looks set to make his next defence against American Hasim Rahman.
The Ukrainian, who dismantled British challenger Danny Williams in December, told his website a fight with Rahman was 90% likely to happen.
And 7 May is being put forward as a tentative date for the bout at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
Rahman, 32, is best known for his shock 2001 defeat of Lennox Lewis, a loss that the Briton subsequently avenged.
Rahman has won his last five contests to improve his record to 40-5 with one draw and 33 knockouts.
