IBF light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson is set to fight Roy Jones Jr, according to boxing website SecondsOut.
The report claims Johnson's camp have verbally agreed to a £550,000 deal to defend against Jones, who lost his WBC belt to Antonio Tarver.
Johnson was scheduled to have fought Joe Calzaghe on 12 June before the Welshman withdrew with a back injury.
The American's clash with Jones is slated for 25 September, probably in Los Angeles or Sacramento.
Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren had wanted to reschedule the fight with Johnson for 24 July, but Johnson told his promoter Dan Goossen to find another opponent.
