Magee is targeting a fight against Robin Reid

Former world champion Robin Reid is being lined up to challenge Belfast's IBO
super-middleweight title-holder Brian Magee in December.
Magee retained his IBO super-middleweight title with a first-round knockout of Omar Gonzalez on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, former WBC champion Reid was stopping Willard Lewis in
Zwickau, Germany.
Magee wants to move up and `face the big boys' after his crushing defeat of
Argentinian Gonzalez, who was caught cold by a sharp right hand from which he
never recovered.
"I hope that the fight with Reid can be made. There has been some talk of it
and I just hope that he will accept the challenge," said Magee.
"I have been frustrated because we tried to get Glen Catley and he did not want
it and Syd Vanderpool did not want to fight me so I hope Reid will take me on.
"I believe that I am ready to face the very best in the world. I am getting
stronger at the weight, I am hitting harder and my confidence is growing.
"The punch I caught Gonzalez with was one of the best I have thrown though I
did not realise that it would do so much damage to him, but he was all over the
place when he tried to get up.
"The crowd were fantastic. It was a sell-out and defending my title at
home for the first time was special and I cannot wait for the next one in
Belfast."
Promoter Barry Hearn is also keen to match Magee with Reid, which would bring
two of Britain's best together in what would be a crucial fight for both.
"I think Magee and Reid would be a great fight. Reid has been there and done
that and Brian wants to get to the top," said Hearn.
