Garland was disappointed with his run in Loughborough (BBC)

Dale Garland's bid to make the Olympic Games ended in failure as he ran 47.4 seconds over 400 metres in Loughborough in his last-chance to make the grade.
It was about a second slower than he had hoped and Garland was understandably disappointed on missing out on going to Beijing.
"I came out after my injury hoping I hadn't lost any fitness but basically I had," Garland told BBC Guernsey.
"Barring a miracle I'm not going to the Olympics," he added.
