Tomlinson's coach believes he is close to the Olympic standard
|
British long jump record-holder Chris Tomlinson continued his early-season form with victory in Cyprus.
Tomlinson is training at UK Athletics' Athens preparation camp and won with a leap of 8.13 metres, registering five jumps over the eight-metre mark.
He is now aiming to better the Olympic qualifying standard of 8.19m at the IAAF Grand Prix meeting in Seville, Spain on Saturday 5 June.
His coach Peter Stanley has said he is "confident" Tomlinson will do so.
