Spain & Czechs reach Davis final
Defending champions Spain will face the
Czech Republic in November's Davis Cup
final after beating the United States
3-1 in Gijon.
David Ferrer beat John Isner in four
sets to ensure victory after Spain had
won the opening two singles matches.
The Czech Republic, defeated by Spain
in the 2009 final, beat last year's
runners-up Argentina 3-1.
Tomas Berdych sealed the win by beating
Carlos Berlocq, who played instead of
the injured Juan Martin del Potro.

US win means the world - Murray
Andy Murray says his US Open win "means
the world" and that he is relieved to
have ended Britain's long search for
another male Grand Slam champion.
The Scot, 25, beat Novak Djokovic in
five sets to claim his first major.
"It is what I have been working towards
for the last 10 years of my life,"
Murray told BBC Sport in New York. "It
means the world to me."
The last British man to win a Grand
Slam title was Fred Perry, who won the
US Open in 1936, 76 years ago.

Bogdanovic blows Wimbledon chance
Alex Bogdanovic lost his chance of a
ninth appearance at Wimbledon after he
crashed out in the first round of
qualifying at Roehampton.
The Englishman, 27, went down 7-6 (11-
9) 6-3 to German Bastian Knittel.
Jamie Baker beat fellow Briton George
Morgan 6-3 6-4, while Oliver Golding,
17, saw off Joshua Milton 6-3 6-2 in
another all-British tie.
Liam Broady won 6-3 1-6 12-10 against
Italian Alessio Di Mauro but Alex Ward
lost a similarly tight match.
