Holmes suffers shock defeat
Kelly Holmes
World 1500m silver medallist Kelly Holmes went down to a suprise defeat at the hands of Alesya Turova at the GE Galan indoor meeting in Stockholm.

Holmes' time, four minutes 4.83 seconds, was her second-best indoor 1500m, but Turova clocked the world's best time this year, 4:04.42.

Hayley Tullett kept up her good start to the season, coming home third in a new Welsh record time of 4:05.63.

European junior 800m silver medallist Charlotte Moore was eighth in 4:17.05.

Turova broke her Belarus record which she achieved last February in Stockholm.

Before travelling to Stockholm, Holmes revealed she was still feeling the effects of a chest infection but was aiming for a fast time.

Robert Newton, the 2003 AAA Under-23 champion and top British 110m hurdler was fifth in a 60m hurdles which was won by Yoel Hernandez.

Ireland's Paul McKee was beaten into third place by Davian Clarke in the 400m.
