115 athletes will represent Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games

Weighlifter Charlotte Whalley has been added to Team Wales for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

114 athletes were named in the squad last week but Whalley has been added after receiving a reallocated qualification spot.

The reallocation process ensures that any unused qualification places are awarded to the next highest-ranked eligible athletes who have achieved the required international performance standards.

"We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to Team Wales for Glasgow 2026," chef de mission Gethin Jones said.

"Her qualification is thoroughly deserved and is a testament to her consistency, commitment and performances throughout the qualification period.

"Reaching 115 athletes is a significant milestone for Team Wales and demonstrates the strength and depth of talent we have across Welsh sport. We look forward to supporting Charlotte as she makes her debut on the world stage."

The Games take place between 23 July and 2 August.
