    "I think she played a really good first game. She came out firing and I really had to battle to win that.

    "It was quite physical, and then I started to find my footing.

    "Happy with coming through that match, especially against Mayar, she's such a tough competitor."

    Our last match today on centre court today at Roehampton is GB's Heather Watson against 21st seed Mayar Sherif.

    This is the first time that the former British number one has had to go through qualifying for a chance to play in the main draw at Wimbledon.

    Watson has won ten titles during her career, including the mixed-doubles title at Wimbledon in 2016.

    Second seed Ashlyn Krueger endured the pressure from Gabriela Knutson to see out the second set, booking her place in the next round

    Gabriela Knutson dug in and battled on after injuring her knee during the first set to win the match, but when it mattered most, doubled faulted twice, and then lost the match with a missed backhand.

    Credit to Knutson for fighting back to 5-5 in the second set, Kreuger just edged it.

    Ashlyn Krueger clinches the first set 7-5 after Gabriela Knutson makes an unforced error.

    It brings an end to a highly competitive set of tennis.

    Emerson Jones, speaking after the game said: "I'm really happy with how I played. I think that I conducted myself really well, and I came out with a game plan and I think I did pretty well."

    On playing on grass courts: "I love the grass. It's one of my favourites and it always has been. I think my game really suits it. I really enjoy playing here."

    Jones reaches the next round by delivering a consistent and efficient masterclass against Linda Fruhvirtova.

    The teenager did not waste any time in either of those two sets, which finished 6-2 6-1.

    Fruhvirtova never seemed to have any answers to Jones' power and guile.

    This first set of has been well fought but Emerson Jones seals it.

    The teenager has not just impressed with her speed, but her court awareness.

    Linda Fruhvirtova lost the set with a forehand forced error, and now she must gather herself to make a charge for the second.

    Linda Fruhvirtova, 21, now faces Australian teenager and rising star Emerson Jones for a place in the next round.

    Fruhvirtova gets us underway.

    It's worth noting that Jones is only 17-years-old by the way!

    Esther Adeshina, speaking after the game said: "I was just thinking one point at a time, one point at a time.

    "Just keep going.

    "I was looking at my team a lot, they were really behind me, supporting me.

    "I was honestly trying to breathe and enjoy the moment."

    Esther Adeshina advances after taking the deciding set 7-5 in a closely fought battle.

    There really hasn't been much separating these two.

    GB's Adeshina won the first set 6-1 and eighth seed Moyuka Uchijima came back to take the second 6-3.

    Adeshina kept her nerve in the crucial moment, and a lapse of concentration from Uchijima was the difference.

    Uchijima responded positively to her lacklustre display in the first set by winning game one of the second set.

    She took a lead 2-1 before Esther Adeshian fought back to level the match 3-3. From there, Uchijima did not look back winning 3 games on the spin to claim the second set and force a deciding set.

    We are in for a scorcher in the beating heat in the opening match of day 2 of Wimbledon qualifiers.

    The first meeting between the two has seen Adeshina come out the stronger of the pair so far.

    One way traffic indeed! Adeshina has clinched the first set against Uchijima 6-1 after Uchijima loses those last two points with two forehand forced errors.

    She has forced eighth seed Moyuka Uchijima into two errors, won a point with an ace and now the first game.

    Adeshina is sending an early message to her opponent.

    Here's a recap of yesterday's action!

    Dan Evans beat Juan Carlos Prado Angelo 7-6 (7-2) 6-3, and Billy Harris and Oliver Tarvet also reached the second round after wins of their own.

    GB's Henry Searle, also advanced, as did fellow Britons Paul Jubb and Max Basing.

    Fellow Brit Liam Broady was knocked out, beaten by August Holmgren 6-7 (6-8) 6-4 5-7 and Oliver Bonding has also exited after losing to Federico Coria 7-6 6-2.

    And now today our first match on show Court 1 will see GB's Esther Adeshina, 24, take on eighth seed Moyuka Uchijima.

    GB's Heather Watson will see out of the day but we have two other games before that.
