A Gloucester-Hartpury win over struggling Leicester Tigers seems a likely prospect with Gloucester-Hartpury knocking on the door of top spot in the PWR table this side of Christmas.

The champions in the last three seasons are yet to lose a match in 2025/26 but nearly suffered a shock defeat when they welcomed Ealing Trailfinders to Kingsholm in round six.

Trailfinders’s power and pressure surprised the home side in the opening minutes with Natasha Hunt sent to the sin bin and Alana Borland scoring the opening try.

The champions responded with a Jade Shekells try and managed to maintain their perfect start despite a strong Trailfinders effort resulting in a consolation bonus point.

Could a Leicester Tigers team still in search of their first win this season provide a pre-Christmas scare for the champions?

Their best result was in round six when they picked up their first point, running in four tries against Harlequins in a 28-56 defeat.

Leicester will no doubt see Gloucester-Hartpury as their Goliath but like David they will have to go into battle without fear and play with a freedom to topple the top team in women's rugby.
