Hull FC have signed loanee Ethan O'Neill on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Leeds Rhinos.
The 27-year-old back-rower joined from Leeds in May and has made a total of five appearances for the club.
The Australian joined Leeds late last year having scored seven tries in 22 appearances in a one-season stint with the Leigh Leopards.
"We are delighted to keep Ethan here on a permanent basis after a promising loan spell over the last couple of months," chief executive Richie Myler said.
"Ethan has been a really positive addition to the group – his work rate is incredibly high, and he has become a strong voice in our pack in only a short time here.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him continue to develop over the coming years in our environment."
