Scotland's women beaten 7-5 by Sweden in final.

The Scots beat Switzerland 8-5 in the semi-final after coming through the round-robin group stage with five wins and four defeats.

Sweden beat Norway 7-6 in their semi-final after finishing top of the group with a record of eight wins and one defeat.

Switzerland beat Norway to win bronze.

In the men's competition, Scotland's men beat Italy 9-3 to win the bronze medal. The men's gold medal match sees Sweden, who beat Scotland in the semi-finals, take on Switzerland later on Saturday.

Scotland's men and women compete in the European Curling Championship, the event returns for a second year in Lohja, Finland.

Last November, the top-seeded Team Mouat were beaten in the final by Germany men and came home with silver, while Team Morrison returned with bronze after edging out Italy in the women's tournament.

Both Team Mouat and Team Morrison are heading to the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, with the former going into the event as heavy favourites after claiming silver in 2022.

The format of the Europeans - round-robin matches followed by semi-finals and a final - replicates that of the Olympics.
