Boston United have added Buxton defender George Ward to their squad on an initial two-year deal.

Ward made 39 National League North appearances and scored six goals last season, helping Buxton to reach the play-offs, where they lost to South Shields.

The 24-year-old, who started out with Leicestershire club Barwell, previously played at the same level for Leamington.

He becomes the Pilgrims' fifth new arrival of the summer, joining Gavan Holohan, Nicholas Pozo, Kai Mauro and Terrell Agyemang.
