Vitor Matos believes a reunion with Matt Grimes will give Swansea City's players an extra incentive as they look to shock Championship leaders Coventry City.
Swansea will face their former captain for the first time when they travel to face Frank Lampard's Sky Blues on Friday (15:00 GMT).
Grimes ended a 10-year spell at Swansea by joining Coventry for an undisclosed fee last January.
The midfielder, 30, was a fine servant to the Swans, performing with remarkable consistency during more than 300 appearances for the Welsh club.
Though he has only been at Swansea for a month, head coach Matos says he is well aware that Grimes is a player with "a good past in the club".
"[He is a] character of the club as well in terms of the dressing room," Matos added.
"So for sure the boys will be happy to see him and they will be even more happy to do a really good game against him."

Grimes has impressed at the CBS Arena, taking the captain's armband this season and helping Coventry to the summit of the second tier.
Coventry's form dipped a little before Christmas, with only one win coming in their past four games, but they will aim to defend an unbeaten home record as they take on a Swansea side who have not won away since September.
Lampard's team have been particularly impressive going forward, having scored 53 league goals - compared to Swansea's 24 – in their 22 league games to date this season.
"Coventry is one of the best teams of the league - the numbers speak for themselves in terms of points and goals scored," Matos said.
"They are a really good team in all the moments of the game.
"That's a challenge, but as well the beauty of football is that in a specific point, any team can beat any team and we will try everything to compete in the game."
