When is the EFL Cup second-round draw?

- Published
The second-round draw for the 2026-27 Carabao Cup will take place on Monday, 10 August at about 19:20 BST.
Eleven Premier League clubs join the 35 first-round winners from across the English Football League.
Brentford, Chelsea, Fulham, Newcastle United, Everton, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City are the top-flight teams who will enter Monday's draw.
It will take place live on Sky Sports before the final first-round tie, a Devon derby between League One side Plymouth Argyle and arch-rivals Exeter City, of League Two.
The first two rounds of the draw are regionalised, with teams split into northern and southern sections.
While the primary deciding factor for the regional splits is geographical, other factors - such as making sure there is a fair balance in competition between the two sections - are considered.
This explains why Walsall are in the southern section and West Bromwich Albion, located about five miles south of Walsall, are in the northern section.
The second round will be played in the week commencing Monday, 24 August.
