Preston North End have signed Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Lee Nicholls on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 33-year-old made 178 appearances for Town in all competitions after joining from MK Dons in July 2021.

"Lee has been at the club for a long period of time and has been part of really successful teams here," Huddersfield boss Martin Drury told the club website., external

"It's been a real pleasure for me to have worked with him, and I've the utmost respect for him and what he's achieved so far in his career."

Nicholls is the second goalkeeper to leave the League One club on Wednesday after Jacob Chapman, 25, joined St Mirren.

However, keeper Nik Tzanev, 29, has signed a new one-year deal with the Terriers.

The New Zealander joined on a short-term deal from Newport in January and made two appearances last season.
