MK Dons have signed former Middlesbrough midfielder Dan Barlaser on a free transfer on an undisclosed contract.

Barlaser, 29, departed the Riverside Stadium when his contract expired at the end of last season.

He reunites with Dons boss Paul Warne, with whom he gained promotion to the Championship with Rotherham United in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

Warne told the club's website:, external "He's a player that I've worked with before and had promotions with. He's also a really good kid, really motivated and brilliant in the dressing room.

"He's a very good footballer, great on set-pieces, has a brilliant range of passing and he's always looking to play forward, so he's a good addition to our midfield options already."

Barlaser spent last season on loan at Hibernian, making 37 appearances as they finished fifth in the Scottish Premiership.
