Defender Cameron Evans has signed a new contract with Newport County.

The versatile 25-year-old - who featured at centre-back, full-back and in midfield across his 41 appearances last season - was due to be out of contract this summer but has extended his stay at Rodney Parade.

Former Wales youth international and Swansea City academy product Evans is now set for his third season with Newport, having joined the Exiles from Taunton Town in the summer of 2024.

The Welshman follows in the footsteps of Ciaran Brennan, who has also agreed a new deal with the League Two club.

The 26-year-old committed his immediate future to the League Two club after making 29 appearances in all competitions in the 2025-26 campaign.

Brennan proved a versatile figure for County by playing in various positions, including full-back, centre-back and midfield

The former Sheffield Wednesday trainee, who joined County in 2024, and Evans become the latest players to commit to the 2026-27 season at Rodney Parade after midfielder Harrison Biggins signed on a permanent deal.

It comes after three players - Bobby Kamwa, Matt Baker and Michael Spellman - turned down new contract offers from County.
