Hosts Wales suffered a second successive defeat in the Uefa Men's Under-19 Championships as they lost 4-0 to Germany in Wrexham.

Chris Gunter's side had suffered a 7-0 loss to Spain in the opening game on Sunday but gave a much better account of themselves against Germany.

Cruz Allen fired a shot wide for Wales before goals from captain Francis Onyeka and Montrell Culbreath put Germany 2-0 ahead at the interval.

Otto Stange added a third goal for Germany and although Onyeka missed a late penalty a stoppage time header from substitute Jykese Fields sealed the win.

Wales face Denmark in their final Group A Game on Saturday in Wrexham with both countries chasing third spot which would secure a Under-20 World Cup Play-Off.

Earlier on Wednesday, Denmark lost 3-0 to Spain at Denbigh's Cental Park, with goals scored by Qusmane Diallo, Hugo Lopez and Morante.
