Lewis Spence's goal early in the second half gave Hamilton Academical a narrow Scottish Championship victory against Greenock Morton.
Spence struck from outside the box to break the deadlock in the 47th minute.
It was a first league defeat for Morton manager Dougie Imrie, who began a six-game suspension for historical betting offences.
Gozie Ugwu narrowly missed the target and had another effort saved as Morton chased an equaliser.
But they could not get level and drop a place to eighth in the table, four points above the bottom two. Hamilton climb one spot to sixth.
