Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace says results in the latest round of matches prove that the County Championship is "alive and well" going into a two-month hiatus.
In Division One, Sussex were beaten by second-from-bottom Hampshire, basement side Leicestershire defeated Yorkshire for their first top-flight win in 23 years, while third-from-bottom Glamorgan have a chance of beating Surrey on the final day of their match.
"I want to see more teams winning games, because it'll be a fantastic end to the domestic season," he told BBC Radio Sussex.
After the current round of matches is completed on Monday, the County Championship does not return until 20 August, with white-ball cricket set to take centre stage.
The T20 Blast group stage resumes on 26 June, with Finals Day on 18 July. The 50-over One-Day Cup then begins on 21 July, on the same day The Hundred gets under way.
When the County Championship does restart, with six rounds of matches played back-to-back, Farbrace said it will produce more unpredictable results.
"The County Championship is alive and well," the former England assistant head coach said.
"We played the perfect game against Glamorgan last week, and won the game comfortably. Then they've gone and put themselves in a great position to beat Surrey.
"That is the nature of Division One, and that's how it should be.
"I'm a big fan of the County Championship, and I try to promote it and push it at every given opportunity.
"If different teams are winning, it shows that we've got real depth and quality in the county game and that's fantastic."
