New South Wales pace bowler Ryan Hadley has confirmed he will stay with Glamorgan for two more Championship matches.

The 6ft 5in 27-year-old paceman was originally contracted for the first six four-day games, but has remained in Cardiff rather than returning home as planned.

He has impressed, taking 21 wickets and scoring an unbeaten 50 to help clinch the win over Somerset.

"I've got a couple of weeks off now to refresh a little bit, then I'll crack back into it for two matches," Hadley said.

Glamorgan face Sussex away and Surrey home in the Championship, between two blocks of T20 cricket.

Fellow Australian bowler Nathan McAndrew, originally slated to play in those games, is likely to make his Glamorgan debut against Somerset in the Blast on Friday 29 May.

"He's [Hadley] a good bloke, fits in really well in the changing room, good sense of humour and he certainly tries - he puts in on the pitch. He's bowled some really good spells which has influenced games as well," said Glamorgan head coach Richard Dawson.

"He's a good point of difference in our bowling attack. He's obviously tall, hits the deck, he's got a yard about him as well. So it's nice to have that change of attack, so he complements our bowling attack really nicely."

Hadley caught Glamorgan's eye playing for New South Wales in this season's Sheffield Shield, Australia's domestic first-class competition.

He has also starred with the bat as well as the ball for Glamorgan.

His unbeaten 50 as nightwatchman in the two-wicket win against Somerset was a key innings as the Welsh county claimed a historic first ever home triumph in Division One.

Rain spoiled Glamorgan's game at Warwickshire which ended in a draw, with Hadley claiming a wicket in each of the hosts' innings at Edgbaston.
