Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan has joined Lancashire for the remainder of this season's T20 Blast.

A leg-spinner and lower-order batter, Shadab replaces Australian Chris Green, who was ruled out for the rest of the competition with a fractured thumb earlier this month.

Shadab, 27, has played six Tests and 197 white-ball games for Pakistan and has previously had spells with Yorkshire and Sussex.

"Whilst we were all disappointed to lose Chris Green, being able to bring in a player of Shadab's calibre and experience – particularly at such short notice – will provide the squad with a timely boost ahead of a key run of fixtures," director of cricket Mark Chilton told the club's website, external.

Lancashire resume their T20 campaign away to Leicestershire Foxes on Friday (18:30 BST), but they are bottom of the North Group at the halfway stage.
