Three County Championship matches lost their first day's play in entirety - thanks to poor weather in the Midlands.

Warwickshire's meeting with Division One title rivals Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston was the major casualty.

Two of the four Division Two games were also called off - first at Derby, where Middlesex were the visitors, then also at New Road, where Worcestershire were supposed to have been entertaining Lancashire.

Play is due to start at 11:00 BST in all three games for day two on Friday but, with further rain likely to affect the remaining three days, the outlook is not good.
