The
only Australian theme pub in town, "The Walkabout Inn" brings a
little bit of " Down Under" to West Street.
The
remarkably authentic decor leaves you expecting to see Lou pop up
from behind the bar at any moment.
All
the Ozzy classics including Fosters and XXXX are available, not
to mention an impressive selection of Australian wines (strictly
for the Sheilas of course) and on the menu Kangaroo Burgers and
Crocodile fillets add to the feel.
The
most staggering feature of The Walkabout however has to be the huge
screen which is in use for all major sporting events, and smaller
screens dotted around means missing a moment of the action is impossible.
liam - sheffield I like this place! Plenty of room to move! The bar service is usually ok depending on the crowds! Down stairs on a friday is usually full of old men thinking they can still attract the young lasses its quite funny to watch actually! Upstairs is good the drinks are quite pricey but I never intend on staying there so its nothing to moan a bout!
Kirsty I love this place, the music and atmosphere is tops, tho occasionally the beer's not too great. They once played Baywatch AND Ghostbusters in ONE NIGHT!! If thats not good i dunno wot is!
Jake the Muss This place in the epitome of all things antipodian. Expensive, brash, tacky and over the top but you can't beat the old waaarkabout for major sporting events, especially the rugby. Bring on the 6 nations!
Alan I think the Walkabout is an excellent Sheffield pub to be proud of, an ex church and as you walk in there are some gravestones still on the ground. It is easier to tell uostairs that it was previously a church with the shape of the building and some pews still in it. a friendly well liked place. Reccommend to all.
Nick Hayne Ive not been there suring the day, but you can get some really good live acts in there. I recommend hiding upstairs though unless you like thew crush down by the main bar - lots more space to chat with your mates upstairs, and the bar theres easier to get to.
Dave Walkabout yes Walkabout 300 yards and go to the Dog and Partridge yet another typical town center pub YUK
Joanne Used to like this place but they frequently got orders wrong - the last time I went was a decidedly not busy lunchtime where we asked for a pint or lager and half a lager and lime - we got half a lager and a pint of lager and black, was it really such a difficult request?.
Sharon Don't miss the £3 menu - You get a big plate full of decent food - this is one of my lunchtime haunts!
