Often
referred to as the last traditional pub in the Devonshire and Division
Street area, The Frog and Parrot offers a wide range of authentic
pub meals along with all the usual beers, wines and spirits.
Attracting
a mostly local crowd, the atmosphere is truly unpretentious and
down to earth and with a clientele of all ages, it's a really friendly
place to be.
During
the day the place offers shoppers a place to rest their feet and
shopping bags whilst at night customers can enjoy one of the most
original and best loved juke boxes in the city.
Tim Smith The Frog and Parrot is a nice enough venue beer wise, BUT, why is it that come 9pm or around then, the already audible (bad) music is turned up so high you can't talk to your friend across the table?!? This adds nothing! 07/04/05
Alan Sanderson This place has had a few ups and downs over the years but still in essence a traditional pub with a great atmosphere. Quality beers with excellent staff although they certainly earn their money running between bar and kitchen. Still today you can drink the famous roger and out and earn your certificate for downing three (tasts awful though) and even get a hallucinogenic tipple if you fancy collapsing down Division Street risking an ASBO!! The best quality the pub boasts is the total mix of clientel ie-students, professionals and the crazy dudes with mohicans and piercings adding to the feeling that anything goes in this establishment. Watch out asthma sufferers for the smokey atmosphere, as you may collapse if stood at the bar for any length of time. Food is cheap if you take the 2 for 1 options and the quality is satisfactory. Not a great deal of entertainment apart from people watching or cracking a couple of quid in the bandits if you can still stand after the copious amounts of strong ale. Get thi sen in for a good old yorkshire blast from the past.
Nick Hayne I love this pub! Good beer, a nice atmosphere, and friendly, helpful staff. Nick himself can often be seen scurrying about (when not in the cellar tinkering with brews). Last time I visited, the entire street had a powercut. Did this stop the staff? Never! an assortment of candles and lamps was collected, and coupled with the dark wood panelling and Halloween decorations only added to the charm. And thats before you taste the beer m'friends....
Dave Yes tend to agree seen its Day ,One good Tale ,After I took a bad pint back, the bloke behind the bar said "have you tried the foresters, I said "give us a pint of that ,He said its the pub across the rd.. made me laugh for years ....
Mikey Boy One or two disgruntled chavs, perhaps. I've been drinking there solidly for the past six or seven years - and like all the other real regulars - stayed supping my ale (Heineken disappeared years ago) when the police have closed down ALL the pubs that end of town on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe you guys just don't get out enough.
Ian I agree with Martin's comments. This was the best pub in Sheffield for a long time. Now, sadly disappearing up it's own backside.

Having enjoyed the atmosphere and copious bottles of good cheap
wine and umpteen pints of that dutch classic, heineken export over
many years, I would gladly have recommend this venue to anyone
and everyone but not any more. The greedy cow's review, points
out that it is one of the most unpretentious pubs to be visited,
but I can tell you that once upon a time that may well have been
the case but no more.
As we live just around the corner and consider it to be one of our
locals, we are always dismayed that come football, either Hillsborough
or Brammall Lane then without fail, they shut up shop, regardless
of regulars.
The barstaff nowadays can definately not be called unpretentious
as they are the exact opposite, particulary the female variety who
for some strange reason think that they are single handedly going
to improve the clientele and atmosphere to tailor to their needs.
A definate no no for the frog and parrot...
